Unless they are improving the VIP package I can see no reason for such a large increase

They need to be improving it if that is the price increase. Now they are dishing Tivo out to people the really need to releaes the new VIP packages which include it. It can't take that long to do them surely.

Something I'm painfully aware of with my VIP50 install date being tomorrow afternoon. Having been a Sky World customer for 15 odd years, I have to seriously consider staying with them even longer. If this had been the price when I signed up 6 weeks ago then I don't think I would have considered making the move.

I could get unlimited DVD rentals from LoveFilm each month for the amount Virgin are hiking their prices by.

Yes they do, but I suspect not by over 10%

Actually, Sky increase prices twice a year. Once in April and once in September.

I was thinking the same. SKY will see this and obviously freeze there prices...

They'll probably make a big announcement too like........ "Our prices have frozen, unlike Virgin Media"

Also, what better time for SKY to drop the HD charge !! :D

Dream on! Sky always increase prices.

if you feel VM no longer gives you what you want, then switch suppliers. You have a choice.

I can't get a SKY bundle to beat my VIP20, ESPN makes the difference. Whereas I'm far from happy with these prices rises, for what I want, I can't get it cheaper.

Rock and a hard place???

Actually, thinking about this... will my VIP20(plus prem HD chans) go up in price, as the prices quoted are for VIP30(with no Prem HD)?

VIP20, which will become VIP30 including your £7.00 HD charge will be £107.55 per month as of April.

VIP30 doesn't have Premium HD does it?

No. VIP30 will be £100.55 per month, without the HD charge. £107.55 per month if you add it to the package.

.

I understand there will be increases, but you have to admit this seems a little excessive if they are keeping the packages exactly the same?!?...maybe it's just me eh?

I'm asking some colleagues to just double check the prices for the VIP bundles as based on the info I've read on the price changes I'm not sure they are right.

Although I could be reading it wrong myself of course!

just another step in the devaluing of the so called VIP package.

But can they really charge me for something I'm not getting? I'll be still on 20mb BB not 30mb as I don't want to pay the £30 upgrade for something I don't really utilise.

I was thinking that and that's what has got me about it all. Mind you, they could say that VIP20 are getting more i.e. upgrade to 30Mb but as it's supposed to be a free upgrade (bar the activation fee of course)
