Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Sherwood was always a stop gap for Spurs. I think the Gall situation is all sorted, unless something drastic happens.
Sherwood is NOT management material, he needs more experience under his belt. It wouldn't surprise me if Levy, and remember one thing joe Louis who says who goes. He runs the club and tells Levy what to do. That Sherwood will work with Gaal for next season. As for Wenger, he has had his day at Arsenal. They need new blood. |

Could the unthinkable happen, and Arsenal join United in no European football next season (should they not win the FA Cup)? Would finishing 6th and winning the Cup be enough to appease Arsenal fans? Are Sunderland relegated, or can they perform a miracle escape?

UEFA taking a stand on the issue of loanee players playing against their owning clubs:

Good. It's a shame it won't happen in the Premier League but for some reason Wenger was attacked for expressing the exact same sentiments that are now being applauded! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...arsene-3395418 Although that's partly because the media decided Wenger's comments were boring so instead pretended he said something else.... |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I just think it should be left to the clubs to agree that players can or can't play each other. I think it was Lua Lua scoring on loan for Pompey against his parent club Newcastle which brought about the current rule. Regarding Courtois, I read that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid agreed a lower loan fee for him, but who suggested the fee for playing against us I'm not sure. I think he should play, he's played against us before. In the end I imagine that if he goes on loan their next year, they'll end up paying a lot more than this year to compensate. If he doesn't sign a contract extension he'll not go out on loan anyway.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I agree with UEFA on the violation of influencing who and when a loanee can play to a certain degree, I do think the can't play against parent club clause should stand if they want it in the contract terms.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
 The Premier League have swapped the days the Sky games between Chelsea v Sunderland and Hull v Arsenal are on. Chelsea v Sunderland now Saturday 19th April at 17.30 and Hull City v Arsenal now Sunday 20th April at 14.05. Both still live but there's bound to be loads of fans that have already booked travel in advance for a cheaper deal. They said they would do this but I never believed them as it's not been done over here before. It's about time though. I think they need to consider the possibility of Friday night games in the future as well. It happens all over Europe apart from here.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between courtois predicament and mascerano's all those years ago that got the hammers a thirty million pound fine, the only difference I can see is that Chelsea have direct influence over a player to stop him playing against them, worse imo than mascerano and tevez.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...united-3402770
I don't know whether there's truth in this or it's a publicity stunt by United to light a fire under Moyes but if LVG did take over I'd have a bit more confidence in his abilities. He's had success at the top with big teams and is also a fan of the United's "slow start" to the season as opposed to Moyes' "slow start, middle and end" tactic. He might even get another good season out of RVP. |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Pep for United! give the bloke something to do that's not walking into a ready made super-club. Then we can call him Andre Villas-Guardiola
|
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I think if SAF had left a younger squad with possibly a few big names being brought in then Pep may well have taken over instead of Moyes.
