I don't think you can compare it to going in with two feet on a player because usually its accidental and they're not trying to hurt the player, whereas what Suarez did was not an accident. Di Canio had an 11 game ban, Keane 9, Barton 12, Thatcher 8. So its in line with those bans. The problem they have is that they are incosistent, sometimes players get away with no ban at all and then sometimes a big ban. Its something the FA need to sort out soon.

Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

Ok let me reword it and make it simple for you - Bite anyone whilst in the realms of a working environment and it is still a sackable offense and you can still be charged for GBH. So yes actually he did get off very lightly.

I repeat and reaffirm, He got off very lightly.

you do understand than Liverpool are his employers and not the fa don't you, his employers have decided on the disciplinary action they feel appropriate, all the fa have done is show how inconsistent they are by banning some one for ten games when in the past they've allowed some one to escape unpunished for committing the same offence, so no he didn't get of lightly at all.

Yes he did. Just agree to disagree because I do not at all agree that he did not get off lightly.

I can repeat until I am blue in the face that had this been ordinary Joe public, they would have been sacked and arrested and charged for GHB and then had a nice criminal record to boot.

Last time I checked, it is a criminal offense to assault, cause harm, strike another person, I am pretty much sure 'biting someone' fits these categories.

Also, I am fully aware of his employment arrangements. It matters not who his employers are. The FA is the Governing body of every Football Club in the Country, it is completely irrelevant that the FA are not his employers, they lay the laws of the game down and every club, no matter how big or small they are, has a duty to comply with said laws and if a player breaches those laws of the game regarding serious conduct, in which case this most definately is, then it is the duty of the FA to hand out sanctions to any player who does not comply.

It's absolutely obvious that Liverpool FC are not going to sack/punish their so called star player. So guess what? That's down to the governing body. That would be the FA, his 10 match ban was however, in this case decided by an independent regulatory commission, not the FA, the FA only felt that a standard 3 match ban was an insufficient punishment.

if you feel that strongly make a complaint to the police, professional international players have been jailed for assaults on the pitch before and it matters entirely who his employers are when your claiming he bit another member of staff. and yet they also decided no punishment at all was sufficient punishment for exactly the same offence by Defoe, the appeal if there is one will be heard by the fa not an independent panel, it'll be interesting to see how that goes, I think they will appeal and they have a good chance of getting it reduced.

No, for a start, it's not the FA alone, it's the Premier League and UEFA included in that report. It just means that you have three people who have immaculate taste at the top.:p: If people like Gill are involved given his top class track record it can only be good for the game. The other two are high quality individuals who just happen to be United supporters, they have not been involved in the day to day running of the club.

I'd like to agree with it but I don't see Ashley binning him. Unfortunately it's something that needs to happen. The defence was just as crap last season, we got lucky many times but it showed plenty of times too, the only reason we played so well was we had a solid formation and 2 strikers... Injuries ruined the start of the season but we'd have been fine with everyone fully fit and playing with the usual 2 strikers but again Pardew 'had faith' in not replacing Demba Ba and finishing the season with 1 striker up front in some god awful formation. Despite being hammered and outplayed in the majority of the games in the second half of the season (I fail to count last minute 1-0 wins as a success really) we continue to persist with the same tactics every game of launching an 80 yard ball at Cisse who spends the majority of game offside. Rob Elliot is a dreadful keeper, James Perch shouldn't be playing Premier League football, Steven Taylor is a liability and Jonas just gets worse as the seasons pass.

Simple business for the summer.

1 striker
2 defenders
1 midfielder
Pardew out.
Replace anyone that leaves.

Cheer up, you've got shola

I noticed that however if you click on one of the games it has a real time table next to the report.

I'd actually like to see Newcastle go down, we need another purge of the team.

That's the one I was looking at first, it updates the league positions but you have to click at the bottom to expand, then you get all the goal stats. It didn't update them for quite a while after the game.

Well there might not be a trophy to play for but there is pride and we will see today whether some of the Arsenal players really care about their club.

QPR and Reading go down.

Be interesting what QPR do about their wage bill and the amount of players at the club. Such reckless spending during the mid-season window...

But Klopp's heroic's since then have put him well out of Arsenal's reach now.

Arsenal have played really well and it doesn't seem United are completely up for it. I really think we needed another goal though, such a stupid way to concede. I would bite your hand off for a draw, I had this match written down as a lost.

The officials have been poor, Walcott a mile offside and then throwing cards around for nothing. They've been nearly as poor as us...looks like we're still on the ****

the football world knew of Klopp well before Dortmunds current CL run. it doesnt change anything Den. Wenger will see out his contract, 1 more year then either Usmanov and Dein come in and Wenger stays on or Wenger leaves and Klopp joins. tbh our problem is that Deins not being about and the senior officials are incompetent. Id take Usmanov and Dein instead of Klopp.

Walcott wasn't a mile offside but he was offside.

I've wanted Klopp for a while but it's unlikely he wants to leave Germany. Wenger can stay as long as he wants as far as I am concerned.
