Needed to call a certain company that uses offshore 'customer services' to make a complaint, the third such time in 4 weeks. I never get anywhere as they don't seem to listen but today I found out that when speaking to Indian call centres I can include as many WWE wrestling catchphrases as I like and they have no idea I'm winding them up. Makes me feel a bit better after realising they aren't taking my complaint seriously. And that's the bottom line cos Russ says so.

Tennis on, plenty of crabbies in the fridge, and a Scottish/British (delete depending on your own personal prejudices) player doing well.

Fingers crossed for him!

That's brought back happy and sad memories for me. My late wife booked a Santa Special trip on the Bluebell Railway for us and the kids the day before she died. At first I thought it'd be too painful to go but I decided not to cancel it and 8 weeks later, the excitement on my eldest's face when he went on the train was priceless. I'm so glad we went and I was able to tell him it was treat from a special mum for an equally special boy. :)

Your late wife was obviously a very special lady and the memories will always be there of her and l can just imagine the smile on your eldest's face when he went on to the train and to tell him it was a treat from a very special mum to a equally special boy.:)

Yes, there is something about Gavin that makes me want to thump him as well. There are quite a few like that, you take one look at their face and get this uncontrollable urge to want to reach through the screen and smack them in the gob. Or is that just me?

Another happy thought, after a year of what seemed like endless treatments and reports Mrs Osem has passed her reflexology exam. She'll have to wait for a month or two for the actual grade but is rightly proud of herself and hugely relieved. So now I have a qualified massage therapist, reflexologist and budding karate practitioner on my hands...

Sorry, no need to say anything. ;)

Den's post simply brought back a very precious memory. Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. My first wife died very suddenly, out of the blue, when our kids were very young. It was a special treat she just happened to book for them the day before she died. In fact in all the turmoil at the time, I completely forgot about the trip until the tickets were delivered a couple of weeks later. Our youngest was too young to understand what had happened but, happily, Osem Jnr. was able to see the trip as a special goodbye from his mum who'd kissed him goodnight one evening but had 'gone to heaven' by the time he woke up the next day.

My running has been slacking off over the past few months so a couple of weeks ago I decided to buckle down and get back to my best. On my first day back I tried my usual pace and distance only to get ITBS which is a pretty nasty pain on the outside of the knee. I gave it up for a week and went back out on a run, different route and it started again after 2km. I bought an IT band strap for my knee to easy the pain which worked on my following run....until I walked the final few hundred metres taking past the place where I first had ITBS...and the pain kicked in at the exact same place.

Went and bought a quality wrap-around Neo G knee support instead which isn't actually for ITBS pain but since then I've been out on it 3 times (6 miles each) including tonight - albeit at a slightly slower pace - and the pain has not returned. Chuffed with that and my target of the Cardiff half-marathon in October is now back on :)

Normally we would get one every three years yup - but we've only had the current one for 18months.

They let us change early as it keeps breaking down.

I'm just looking forward to playing with all the gadgets ;)

I'm trying to keep positive for the new appointment for pain management, hopefully this one goes a lot better than the last.

Good Luck from me as well peanut. I hope this new guy proves better than the others, from what you have said anything will be an improvement on the other ineffective incompetents.

The research.

The medication.

Just got back, and thanks all the posts above. :)

Actually, cannabis has come up in past pain management meetings, and it could be something I could try.

Anyway, the appointment went well, he reviewed my notes and states I need to be seen in more detail, with pain management physiotherapy for joint pain (arthritis) , back (due to Crohn's and posture), neck (which is a mess), kidney (PKD) and Crohn's pain. Also pain management psychotherapy to help with depression and help deal with living with pain. On top of this he shoved a needle in the top of my neck / base of a the skull which hopefully might help with headaches and bone pain, some steroid thing, but got to do the other side in a week or 2. Quite a strange feeling, like biting on cotton wool feeling when the needle goes in. It wasn't as bad as it sounds.

Anyway, he listened to everything I had to say, and acknowledged that more should be done but unfortunately there isn't much in the way of medication that they can offer now as I'm already on the big guns as far as pain medication goes. So cannabis could well be an option.

Feeling a bit sore but mainly very much relieved that it all went as good as I hoped.

it seems such a shame that the only people tapping the Cannabis gold mine are criminals. It grows naturally it has beneficial effects and it chills people out. Obviously I am not talking Skunk which is just THC meaning is has a psychoactive effect I am on about natural weed like Thai like we used to get in the 80s/90s

Very glad to hear that you have at last found someone to view you as a whole person and not just as a random group of conditions. Wish I could give him a Rep point. :)

I was supposed to be doing my deacon bit at the service up at the church today but due to my operation had on Wednesday I couldn't do it.

I am quite upset about that.

so today I'm having trouble finding a highlight.
