However, TCM 2, which is essentially TCM + about 8

TCM2 is pretty much TCM +1 but with the first and last programmes adjusted to fit into the timeslot.

That's how it was announced on CF but not actually how VM dealt with it, there wasn't exactly a big build up and drum roll, just a mention of it having happened.

That's down to one person.

Having spent the weekend at a house with Sky I need to say that I had no problem with it this time. However I could do without what seemed like hundreds ( I know it was not) rubbish ( by surely any ones standards) channels. Did not note any I would wish to add to XL.

Question Non HD channels is there a reason ( I am sure there is) why channels that are in HD & non HD both need to be carried. In my case my non HD tv, shows HD channels with no problem-via video sender ( so much so that BBC 1 etc is now only on favorites as HD ) I guess that the problem is old boxes - Am I correct ? & Yes I love Plus 1 channels for a number of reasons mostly listed above

Yes. Also some people like to record SD as it takes less space.

Indeed we record everything in SD as HD soaks up the memory.

I didn't want to make another thread just for 1 quick question, but if you downgrade channels (down a package), do you have to take out another years contract with VM?

According to an advert I saw on More4, Sky are getting the HD version of that, but there was no mention of it appearing on VM. Does anyone know if Vm will be getting it?

Maybe Sky are helping Channel 4 with start up costs for More4 HD to be Sky only over the next few years.

If More4 HD was set to launch on Virgin Media from day one it always appeared overnight.

I think Virgin Media has drop NTL way of thinking - 'Lets go after this new channel.'

And they have gone for Telewest way of thinking - 'Lets wait until we need to sign an new deal with that broadcaster'.

Muppetman, l will continue to moan about VM, And yes l also have Sky Freesat.

Every member on here pays a great deal of money to VM for a service, which sometimes does not reach its full capacity, we also live under that belief that VM will be honest enough with it customers about new channels that should be on the network.

I am constantly told by CS that they do NOT have enough capacity carry new channels, but are quite prepared to have +1 channels - surely this is taking that space that can be used for a new channel. +1 are NOT new channels.

The only good thing is that the phone service is good, BB is restricted in the use of it despite us pay money to have a 'full' service on it the TV side needs a vast improvement to meet the standards of what the customer 'needs' we have customers asking for Atlantic and Premier Sports, but VM keep saying ' we are in talks'.

Sky have already said several times that VM customers can have Atlantic, but VM say they will not pay high prices for it - at the end of the day, we the customers pays for the service.

With the up coming BT Vision Sports, here again VM will keep its customers waiting - do we pay for it, or will will take over ESPN as free channel.

IF only VM was honest with its customers, then there would not be any aggro from customers.

To solve a big question, is there someone on this forum that knows exactly HOW many channels VM can carry ?

There is no capacity issue

There was, before the analogue switch off and the NGTV technology rollout, but there isn't now

The only current issue is the EPG space in the V box platform - which is why the changes that were made for Olympics have remained
