Very good performance considering how we've played against similar sides to Bayern. Its nice to go into the second leg with a chance.
---------- Post added at 21:47 ---------- Previous post was at 21:42 ---------- And at last they play with some ****ing pride and passion |
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
That Welbeck miss may well be costly, Fellaini started badly but got better as the game went on. Not much possession but more shots on target, a big improvement on recent performances. Once again a terrific atmosphere in the ground.
|
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
may well be? its a dead cert that miss will haunt you. in games like that chances don't come around too often. top quality and above average are separated in moments like that. having said that the first goal disallowed for a high foot was a bit of a ball ache. makes you think if that red against RM was actually the right call.

Swings and roundabouts , it also means that no one can poach one of their players for 14 months either.

One would imagine they will appeal this ban and one would not be surprised if the ban was reduced in its severity.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
The quality of English football in European competition disturbs me. Mourinho was right to slam his team. Just sat back and invited them on. Same for City and United. Too scared and it's frankly embarrassing to watch. Comparable to our performance against Southampton at the weekend.
|
Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Our teams need to learn the art of defending again as we are conceding silly goals all the time.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Wayne Rooney is not world class.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26867861 He is not worth £300.000 a week that's for sure but where would MU be in the PS if it was not for his goals. |

I think they should have been docked points, because Poyet moaned about someone playing an ineligible player against a team he was managing and demanded they got a points deduction. So I would have thought that a fair punishment would have been any points won during those league games he played in got deducted.

Club statement
Published: 04 April, 2014 by Sunderland AFC Statement from Sunderland AFC. Club spokesperson: “The issue of Ji Dong-won was explained in detail at today’s Premier League shareholders' meeting and no issues were raised by any club. “Sunderland AFC confirmed that they had complied with all procedures and the Premier League stated that the player was duly registered on the extranet system and in all other Premier League mechanisms. “The club has never accepted any wrongdoing, but did acknowledge that a technical fault occurred and as such were fined by the Premier League accordingly in December. “The matter is now closed.” |
