Really enjoyed the concert last night, and the day in London yesterday. Went on the London Eye, did the London Aquarium, went on the Cable Car (Emirates Air), and also did the Warner Bros Studio Tour today :D

Do you have a linky for the band? I couldn't find one.

Hope you enjoy your excursion.

And he really gets the crowd \mm/

Last time I was there was for Muse. Stunning!

London on the 30th?

Thanks Caff. I believe people thought the stadium was on fire when Muse were playing. We are seated btw.

You're welcome.
Yup - people nearby were alarmed when the pyrotechnics were being tested 2 days before the gig itself.

The sound balances were superb. I hope you get the same.

Hold on...

Springsteen was amazing, very tempted to try and get a ticket for London now.

Nightmare journey on the way down though, two broken-down lorries one after the other near Stafford and me poor leg was knackered riding a ridiculously heavy clutch for an hour in stop-start traffic, definitely going to take the other car next time. Worth it in the end though.

Yeah it was last night, they'll have had a top night.

We parked outside a friends house at the far of Windmill Rd, about 100 yards outside the parking permit zone so 10 minutes walk to the car and escape at J2 to miss the crowds.

Happy thought comes with a tinge of a moan. New injectable therapy for diabetes helping to deaden my appetite, but it also means I am now having to bulk buy toilet rolls. Oh well, as long as it helps to cut weight and blood sugar it will be worth it.

But mainly my mother with serious emphysema who can't walk for more than a couple of minutes / seconds is in real need for one but do not claim any benefits at all. We didn't know that she could claim for one on the back of a doctors note.

Hopefully that's good for you.

I admit in taking an interest in this because of my neighbour is about to go through the same thing (or a lot worse as far I'm concerned). I can only offer so much advice but from what I've seen it down to the individual circumstances so there's no real right or wrong answer which is why I'm struggling on this subject.

On moneysaving expert it says it can cost upto 7.5k to go the IVA route which I can't believe, it sounds totally wrong to me unless it's a business type of arrangement. Where as bankcuptcy would be cheaper. I'm finding it hard to get a balanced view of the benefits of either ways.

tizmeinnit 24-06-2013 13:13

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Bankruptcy you can loose a lot of your assets and controls on where your money goes is tight
The other options are down to disposable income.

If you can show you have less than £50 left after all your bills and reasonable costs and have debts upto 15000 you can apply for a Debt Relief order which rights all debt off pretty much straight away and you can do this through CAB

I had to much left at the end of the month so could not apply for DRO. The IVA is normally a monthly payment for 5 years and you must pay at least a quarter back I had over £15k debts and at the end of my agreement I will have paid back 6000 all interest frozen. It has cost me £340 to get to this point but the company I used is well covered by governing bodies some will get the IVA for free but you may find you have to agree to higher monthly payments and they fleece you that way

The other option is just a payment agreement all interest gets frozen and you pay a monthly fee which will include management charges so will take 10+ years to clear

All the above comes off your financial records after 6 years

I think the 7.5k is what you pay back in total rather than fees

Even better the banana palm has survived the winter and that cold spring without loosing the main stem and that's getting away too.

The two other palms: A Canary Island one and a Jelly Palm seem to shrug off winters without a second thought but I guess the microclimate near the coast helps.

Love Lee in Solent. Not been there for years though. Fond memories.

I'm ecstatic. After 2 months of apps not working on my phone, called Virgin mobile and they suggested a factory reset. Took me ages to get going again, but now apps work on the phone. So I am very happy.

My happy thought was how thoughtful many people were yesterday when my dad and l went on several trains and it was how many people kindly gave up their seats for us because we are both disabled and use walking aids.:)
