Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Oh, as well as #989 above, I also received a text message soon after placing my TiVo order, letting me know my 'new premium TV channels from VM Entertainment will be ready to watch within the hour'.
Is that normal in this case? Cheers |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Yes. Any channels added (via pack upgrade or Premium channels) are usually available within an hour. This is perfectly normal.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hi All newbie here,
I did the same as you all and phoned up and got an install for Friday (Woop). I can see some people are angry at VM because they have patiently waited in their e-mail but I can imagine that when they opened this morning they had every intention of only selling to those that had received their e-mails but due to forums like this and blogs they were probably inundated with most pre reg customers phoning and all they would be doing would be knocking people back with only the odd sale. They really would have no choice but to open the sale to everyone who phoned just so they could get through it. Remember Virgin haven't really advertised this yet have found themselves with over 50,000 pre reg customers, they have not publicly (i mean through their website or adverts) advertised availabity but done so through private e-mails, they no doubt didn't expect this sort of volume, I don't see it as a c*ck up but more of a bit of naievity as to the awareness of availability times and dates due to forums |

If VM had said 'no' to all the people who phoned but hadn't had the email, this situation wouldn't have happened. It would have soon spread round the forums that there was no point riniging, just as it quickly spread that there was a point You seem to be putting all the blame on the people ringing up and not where it really belongs. I wanted to stick to the planned system, and it was a difficult decision as to wheather to ring up. But VM weren't sticking to the planned system. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
We got the e mail yesterday and see that the 500gb box is coming in may so could I book a install date for may now or do I have to wait till mid may to book install date?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hoping to order a TIVO today. Can someone tell me what the monthly cost would be for VIP50 with a TIVO and an additional V+HD which I already have?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just ordered mine, she kept going off the phone to confirm thins which I don't have a problem with, she even said a bit new to the Tivo purchase so checking. She got everything correct and install date is the 21st April, would have been 19th but I can't make that day. She did ask for the code on the Email.

I have the same set up as you, and waiting for TIVO on Wednesday next week. She confirmed my current package at £110.55, which will reduce to £ 103.55 when Tivo is swapped for 1 of my V+ boxes. All at April prices. Hope that helps Footnote for Ben If Virgin are scrapping the £10 for the additional box shouldn't that go back to £100.55, or is she not taking into account the £3 waiver for Tivo? |
