Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I guess this is old news so to speak, but a quick search showed nothing.
Had a call from Virgin last night. How did I like the Tivo Etc. Only have a couple of moans - well known here. Was told that yes Virgin had made a mistake in not adding reminders & that most of the people spoken too, listed it as the number one want. Was told that it & full red button on BBC would be in the next up grade due between Jan & March 2012. However he had not heard any one complain about having to reset favorites as the main option any and again ( yes I know) . Also hinted at a new style of box being looked at. More in line with the V+ LED display ( Now I would like one of them !!!:D) |

The apps won't need an update to get added. Apps can be downloaded to the stb when they are released, seperate from any updates. |

Sorry if this is asked before but why does BBC programmes links on catch up on demand not work, the only way to watch them is with the Iplayer app!

Normally you should always end up at the programme you want to watch in the iPlayer app. If you end up in the root of the iPlayer app it's because the programme listing has yet tied into the specific catch up programme i.e. it's not on purpose |

I've yet to find one that does if the programme has been on recently, within 24 hours at least

Here is the route, Home> Catch Up & On Demand> Catch Up TV On Demand>All Days> yesterday All listed BBC programes in this section, the links send you back to the TiVo homepage, the strange thing is back on the homepage it is still previewing the on demand preview show's in the top right corner:confused: Also if you go to All channels> BBC Iplayer it will go back to the home TiVo menu, it seems that non of the links work using these routes on TiVo! |

EDIT: ok no mine is ok it goes to the BBC iPlayer programme and lets me play the asset. Yeah we raised a ticket on Sunday for that issue, only happening on some TiVo box's, but I'm not back in until tomorrow so will check the ticket. Can you confirm you can play ITV/Ch4 and 5 programmes ok? |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Ive recently changed from Sky+ to a Tivo. And there a couple of things that could be good on the next software update.
The main thing that I have noticed is that when you want to play back a recording, with Sky you can manually select where you want it to start from, buy entering 10, 20, or 30 minutes etc... Am I missing something, or isn't this facility on the Tivo? |

And forwards (but only in 15 minute segments.....;))
|
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
If you've part viewed a program it'll start from where you stopped it last time, or as has been said there is the option to skip forward in chunks. That's good enough for me, at least.
---------- Post added at 17:22 ---------- Previous post was at 17:17 ---------- A lot of things that people consider a step back are options you find on less advanced boxes. People have to realise that Tivo is different to what's gone before and requires an attitude adjustment for the end user as much as anything - if you're going to fill it full of functions that older pvr's already do then you might as well save the effort and continue to support the old tech. I came from Sky+hd and when I got V+, well, THAT was a step back. Tivo? Well thats the future! |

I ordered a TiVo today for install on 18th jan as my area (Harlow) is apparently very busy, having my V+ installed on a tv i am buying for the bedroom, and the TiVo in the main living room on the big set,got a cracking good deal on keeping the V+ and having cabling installed in the bedroom and by keeping the V+ i will still have access to sky sports Red Button until TiVo gets it,Oh well i have taken the plunge now.:);)

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
My father has just had a TIVO annoyance , last night I recorded a show on my Sky+ box which he set a series link for from his mobile phone it was on BBC2, when he's watched the first part of 2 it's missed the last 3-4 minutes.
