Sky One is off to the EPG in the erm, Sky… Showcase and Max are the new channel brands…

SKY Max is a new channel so may not launch on VM i'm back in office Thursday so will see if there is any info on this.
Expect more rebrands to come in the future too.

They don't mention Sky Replay but Sky Showcase sounds like Replay in concept, even though it's getting Sky 1's slot on Satellite. So maybe Replay is being axed? Pick is basically SkyReplay+1or2Years, so isn't really needed, so it makes sense to me.

.

Yes Sky Replay is closing aswell , Sky Original Comedy is moving to Sky Comedy

Both will be available on Virgin

The channels will be available to Sky customers at no extra charge. They will also launch on streaming service NOW and on Virgin and BT

Sky’s press release does appear to stress that Sky Atlantic “…will remain the exclusive home of high-concept original dramas such as Landscapers, I Hate Suzie, Gangs of London and Chernobyl, as well as being the home of drama from HBO and Showtime.”

Looks like the Atlantic content will not be on Showcase and the dream still eludes Virgin subscribers…

After over 10 years it looks like the only way to get Sky Atlantic is via a NOW Stick for VM subscribers

Make it look like we are offering more , Sky has gone backwards under Comcast ownership in my opinion.

Why is Syfy and Movies 24 brands are still here?

Well they were previously NBCU channels before Sky took operational control - if I had to guess, there may still be some outstanding carriage deals struck by NBCU that still have to run - thinking places like Virgin and Vodafone in Ireland and any legacy tv subscribers from Talktalk… Virgin’s U.K. deal with Sky in 2019 covered those NBCU channels.

What about Universal Channel? That channel is become known as Sky Comedy in 2020.

Sky can do the following if they wanted to:

Syfy - Sky Drama or close with shows moving to soon to launch Sky Max or Sky Witness.
Movies 24/Movies 24 + - Sky Comedy Gold/Sky Comedy Gold +1 (NBCs Comedy shows from 1960s to 1990s).

After 10 years anyone who wants Sky Atlantic should have it by now - why, oh why are we still wittering on about it - those that want it should go and get it and then we can all move on (please).

SYFY is a global brand so that'll be staying, movies24 might aswell change that to romancemovies or even better crapmovies.

I can see Sky Atlantic being axe in 2024 anyway as Discovery are in the middle of taking over the owners of HBO right now.

I did see rumours online last year that Movies 24 was set to close in 2021 but nothing been confirmed.
