Re: *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please (Part 4)
Hi,
I am on the 750K service via a Pace STB. I am upgrading to the 2M service FOC. I have an appointment for the 4th April for an engineer to call and replace my Pace STB for a Samsung unit. All well so far. My question is this: Should I not be running at 1M now and then 2M when the new STB is fitted or is it normal to be still at 750K until the new STB arrives then one jump to 2M ? Thanks. |
Re: *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please (Part 4)
Hi Wallace :), i had the exact same upgrade requirements as yourself. They won't upgrade you to 1mb just for the few days until they deliver & set up your NEW Pace box for TV for you.
Read my installation experience on page 59 of this thread, i'm sure it will enlighten you to a few things you will need to do once your box is installed. I think you will be surprised it's not quite as simple as it may seem. Hope this helps. Yours Stan :) :) |

Re: *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please (Part 4)
Just upgraded to 1 Meg from 300K. Tried doing it through the web page link but it kept saying this is the wrong user for this broadband account (I tried all the user names!)
Phone call to CS yesterday, service applied, rebooted modem, nothing happened! Waited patiently, all day, nothing happened. Phone to CS 08:03 this am, applied service, rebooted CM, WWHHHHIIIIZZZZZZZZZ at 1 meg :) :) :) |

Re: *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please (Part 4)
Just called ntl CS to ask for the speed upgrade.
My call was answered by a nice lady in about 6 mins who put the upgrade from 750 - 2Mb thru the systems very quick, and asked me to reboot my modem in about half hour. Ten seconds after putting the phone down, my modem re-booted itself, and it's 2Mb lovely goodness :):):) Tue, 29 Mar 2005 09:23:20 GMT 1st 128K took 547 ms = 239620 Bytes/sec = approx 1994 kbits/sec 2nd 128K took 532 ms = 246376 Bytes/sec = approx 2050 kbits/sec 3rd 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec 4th 128K took 531 ms = 246840 Bytes/sec = approx 2054 kbits/sec :):):) Big :tu: to ntl from me on this one. |
Re: *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please (Part 4)
Hello,
I live in the Leamington Spa Area (CV32), upgraded this morning via the website to 3mb, was formally on 1.5mb. Have run some speed tests and the results don't seem right. Before Download was approx. 1492kps, upload was approx 256kps Now Download is approx. 60kps, and upload is 229kps. I've power cylced my NTL CM and run the same tests again but the results are still constant Before I go wasting half my day on the phone to NTL is there anything else I should be looking for or trying? Thanks Jon |
