That's how I used to take software updates to sites in Europe in the early/mid 80s.;)

These things made sure that there was a demand for 8" floppies in the music industry right through the 80s and 90s

That looks like something out of my 1970's 'Tomorrow's World' annual. I'm not sure that reflecting on how time has flown constitutes a happy thought though... :erm:

I knew those disks from a Mostek software development system from way way back. Z80 and 3870 processors. Also had a version of BASIC so was quite a handy machine in its time.

CPM operating system. 256KByte per disk. Green screen monitor

Attachment 26101

The good old Fairlight CMI

The Art of Noise
Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Duran Duran and many, many more used and in many cases over-used em much like autotune today

But they cost as much as a house back then ;)

Discharged from Bedford hospital (heart attack part) too now - just kidney, foot, sight stuff to sort out now :)

Also several more friends have offered to be tested with regards giving me a kidney, I truly have some stunning friends.

Having largely cut out the booze and been eating far more vegetables, fruit etc. I'm feeling a lot healthier than for a long time. As a bonus the weight is still coming off at a nice steady pace and Labour's demise has coincided with a huge drop in my blood pressure... :)

So true Den. When I lost my first wife and was left with the kids a lot of 'friends' promised support by very few actually delivered. Oddly, the people I expected least of helped the most...

Thanks, I'm trying my best. I've never smoked so that helps a lot. :)

Fantastic news and you deserve friends like that so you should be proud of each other for coming together like that. As you said, just a few more things to fix! :)

Awesome job, the healthier you feel the easier it is to keep the weight off too so good news all round. Keep it up :)

Thanks. You're right about that. I'm lucky in that my excess weight is concentrated almost entirely around my torso so what I've lost is much more obvious than might have been the case if it was spread all over. That gives some added motivation when I'm feeling like giving in to the dreaded 'munchies'...
