I merely highlighted an incident to put a different perspective on matters.

In keeping with the current seasonal spirit.......

Had I posted about Paddy Kenny, from the other week, and he had had problems with a ref just like Wallwork, you would not have even replied. And why.......quite simple really.......he's not an ex Man U player is he. ;)

no one deserves to get stabbed once let alone seven times.. even if he did provoke something

I'd rather be a Spurs fan and lose with honour and decency than support Arsena who win like *******s that they are.

You have Arsenal players who go down like dying swans everytime a Spurs player comes within 3' of them, then they jump up, run and shout and then think "ay up, i'm supposed to be a dying swan aren't I?" They then go down like a dying swan again.

Don't get me started on the penalty area tackles that make contact with the ball, the Spurs players are who are onside and the Arsenal players who are offside.

Just to rub a bit more salt into the wound Punky.....

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:
"We played with spirit, character, determination and good organisation against a good Tottenham team.
"The team are inspired by their ambition and they were disappointed by our last two results. We realised that, as a team, we have to give more. "The two penalties looked to be penalties to me but it happens that you don't get them in some games."
He is either commenting on a different game, or he hasn't been to Spec savers yet

Well, Villa managed another draw today - I make that 6 draws, one win and one defeat away from home this season :D . Mind you, we've still only lost 2 (both 3-1, oddly enough), so I think the league title's still a realistic prospect :disturbd: :D

Im looking forward to Arsenal's season being well and truly over by the end of next week. I can see them being turned over by TOttenham at the Emirates, and out of Europe with defeat at the hands of Porto. :)

:D Well one down one to go.

Cmon which game did you watch obviously not the same one as me today.

After watching the game at the stadium I watched again on TV for the questionable decisions.

I will agree the Chimbonda tackle on Rosicky was fair and Chimbonda won the ball.

The Jenas challenge on Van Persie was a definite penalty although the ref did miss Van Persies handball.

Adebayor was played onside by Spurs (Chimbonda).

Now taking that into account Spurs only ever had one chance from Malbronc after 10 minutes and that was their only piece of decent play in the 90 minutes.

Further more there were two other penalties that we should have had for Dawsons challenge on Ljunberg where he kicked his leg from under him inside the box and King on Van Persie as well.

Unlike the fans at least the Spurs boss was honest with his quote “You can talk about the decisions and they probably did cost us goals, but I would be embarrassed to talk about them too much. We did not lose because of them.”

:D

well ihave to say i didn't think any of the pens today should have been given.. the two in the arsenal games weren't and Ronaldo dived a few times too and they never should have been given either

strangely even though both teams cheated they still earn points for the fair play league.. what a waste of time that is

Do you still get the chance to get into Europe through that?

Yes, the highest placed team that is not already in Europe gets entered into the Uefa cup.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

the top teams from ALL the European leagues go into a pot and then i think two countries are choosen to go into the UEFA Cup

it's a nice idea poorly done as you get points for shaking hands at the start of a match and if your fans clap when the other team scores you get points.. so you can do loads of cheating on the pitch and still pick up points :Yikes:

i think the only been of fair play i've seen in the past few years was when Fowler fell over the keeper when he rushed out and waved at the ref to say no it wasn't a pen and that was quite a few years ago
