Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I would imagine a coaxial cable is used.
If it's using Wi-Fi and your internet goes down, you wouldn't be able to watch any TV. The same thing happens with Sky Q multiroom boxes. If there is no internet, these boxes cannot be used, but the main Sky Q box is wired to the dish so will still be ok. |

This report claims that there will be a new user interface on the new V6 set top box.

The V6 is connected with the coaxial cable but if you want to use any of the interactive services it has to be connected to a modem. If you want pictures on your TV guide open the guide and push the green button on your remote it then gives you the option to turn them off or on.

But, from family member's experience with Sky Broadband, they used to have a lot of problems and outages. |

Is the new Hub 3.0 required for the V6 to be connected to or does it work with older VM Hubs ? |

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
Apologies if this has already been addressed - I did a search but couldn't find a clear answer. I've read on this forum that the new box has a bluetooth remote. Does anyone yet know whether, despite this, it will respond to infrared commands?
I have a Harmony remote that controls all my equipment and if the V6 won't play nicely with it, it would be a show stopper for me. Cheers, Cliff |
