Top shows on demand such as classics like Lost , Supernatural from season 1. Netflix exclusives such as Orange is the new black , Hemlock Grove.
Also you'd get Breaking bad , watch stuff when you want on two devices.
Top movies first such as The Hobbit a unexpected journey , Hansel and gretel Witch hunters , Troll hunter to name a couple.
Access to 1000s of hours of on demand content , classic movies , new movies. It's worth the £5.99 especially if used with a smart dns too then you get usa , canada etc Netflix too.

thanks but don't you already get most of that on the XL pack? Can't say I understand the smart DNS bit though.

A user simply accessing the UK Netflix like the majority do wouldn't get access to Lost or Supernatural.

Good info there, just wondered is there a limit to the number of devices you can use with Netflix? For example could I potentially use it on Tivo, PC, iPad and PS3 or would I be limited?

Yes you could set it up on all those however with the £5.99 subscription you can only stream on two of those devices at the same time or pay £8.99 to allow four devices at one time.

The basic subscription you can use it on two devices at the same time say for instance you wanted to watch The Terminator on your TiVo box but your wife wants to watch Lost.
You could watch your movie on your TiVo box whilst your wife watches her shows on the laptop or vice versa.
They do offer a option for more devices this option is £7.99p/m or £8.99p/m i can't remember which lol and this will allow you to use your Netflix on 4 devices at the same time.
Device wise you can use it on any device you choose aslong as it's no more than 2 devices at the same time. So you can register a hundred devices if you want but you'd only be able to watch Netflix on any 2 devices at the same time , 4 devices if you take the £8.99p/m plan.

Smart dns is easy you pay about £3.50p/m follow the instructions unotelly give on their site and you're away. It gives you access to content on sites such as ABC , CW , Hulu , Fox , A+E etc too. You can get a 8 day trial with unotelly.com too what's more you can get upto 6 months free by simply liking their facebook page and sharing their page.
Do this once a month for 6 months and bobs your uncle you get 6 months for free.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I'm certainly interested in trying out Netflix at some point.

The SD and HD channels of Universal and Syfy will carry on as now.

Yes bring it on. The 3D on my TV is much better than the cinema and content is lacking. :D

Hope you get it but 3D does nothing for me nor will it until the need to wear glasses is bypassed....

Sorry but 3D is very much and will remain a niche product.

A Netflix question from the uninitiated :)

What would Netflix give me that I already don't have? I am on a VIP package.

I currently only have a V+ box but I believe with my bundle I am entitled to a TIVO.

This is a full list of Netflix content comparing what is available on the UK Netflix versus the US Netflix, with some titles being on both.

http://netflixukvsusa.blogspot.co.uk/

And there are also other Netflix regions that have differing content.

thanks for that but I am still puzzled why I would want this as well as my current VIP bundle which seems way more comprehensive. Even if the subscription was included in the XL bundle which had been rumored I struggle as to why I would want it unless I dropped the bundle I currently am on.

I think its the fact that you can watch all these shows at the click of the button for many series and movies which 1) we dont have access to i.e sky atlantic shows 2) for movies which we'd usually need to pay for?

Even if we do have access to these shows you'd need to record them on your tivo??? 1 episode a day etc. With this you have box sets at your finger tips instantly?
