Yeah I've finally been upgraded with the new speed boost.!!
I get 82KB/s (656Kb/s) speeds downloads which is superb - much higher than expected on my Broadband Speed Test. :) |

Is it normal for the upgrade to require manual working inside the green box?
Reason I ask if there is 2 of those little NTL:Home vans outsider the box on our street, with those little orange lights flashing. Probably a fault I imagine :/ |

1st 128K took 1802 ms = 72737 Bytes/sec = approx 605 kbits/sec 2nd 128K took 1813 ms = 72296 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec 3rd 128K took 1813 ms = 72296 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec 4th 128K took 1812 ms = 72336 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec and im in swindon still no update:( |

If AOL wanted speed upgrades for their customers they could have it any time, they haven't chosen to so they haven't got it.
On the subject of download limits, even though NTL say they have a 1gb a day cap, I really wouldn't take this too seriously as it's not a strictly enforced cap like that of Freeserve or BT etc. I've been doing 2.5 gig a day average (says DUMeter) for the last 6 months (when I installed DUMeter, so is probably longer than that) and haven't heard a peep from NTL. |
