Score wise? I think, unless I'm mistaken, the record is 9-0 in a Premier League game for biggest margin.

---------- Post added at 13:30 ---------- Previous post was at 13:29 ----------

A damning indictment from an Arsenal fan through Facebook.

Quote:

Wenger has lost the plot when it comes to the big teams, his tactics are awful and he just can't beat them. As for transfers don't get me started. He has been and was a brilliant manager but like the mouldy cheese at the back of the fridge he's past his best. I can't see us winning the league while he's still in charge.

not me. ive never seen it.

Ian Darke use to be the boxing commentator for SkySports. I reckon Chelsea should be given the 2nd half off, rest for their next game and instead have all the Arsenal officials stand on the pitch to receive a 'slap'.

Serious question for Arsenal fans: After today, which is needed more in the summer, new manager or actual investment in the goalkeeper department and a decent striker?

Honestly wondering which of those is the best course for Arsenal, because the comments I've seen on Twitter today suggest that Wenger is starting to lose the fans. If he loses the support of the fans, can he continue as manager?

He had responses thought out. He blamed the defeat on himself when he knows full well that it was the players as well but he can't slaughter them in the open. The last thing he would have wanted to do though is soak in too much of the heat and that would have happened if he stood around waiting for the press conference room to be available for him. Some will say he ran away.

It didn't stop him before. I wouldn't mind seeing a new man incharge so long as its the right man. I'm tired of this tip toeing around players. carefully calculate investment and then tear into the team if it doesnt come together. Arsenal are neither investing, properly investing that is and we rarely hear of Wenger screwing at the pathetic stuff on field. i dont care for his approach, its a failure. CL each year to feed the books, hang the fans up by their jewels, its beyond a joke.

The fact of the matter is Arsenal will need more than a goalkeeper and striker in the summer. Another fact is Wengers methods need to change, people havent been calling him to evolve for no reason. will it happen? these questions/concerns have been raised for years and years now. its the same ol'd each year!

I think that's the stereotype but it's not really true. Spurs and Munich showed that Arsenal do have alternative gameplans and it's hardly predictable. The problem is the game plan away at our top 4 rivals have proven to be shockingly awful and the players incapable of rising to the occasion.

thenry 23-03-2014 13:50

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

Whats well known is various ex-players have said Arsene does not do enough work on the opposition. Now you could say that is to put more importance on our own game but it also shows a lack of respect towards the opposition. Make no mistake, even though Jose says this and that he would NEVER disrespect the opposition like that. Fergie never done it, Fergie had his game plan for Arsenal. You do not win by disrespecting the opposition, thats a fact in everyday life not only football!

This is a great result for LaLiga PLUS it keeps it as a 3 horse race.

Very dodgy ref there, 2 of the penalties shouldn't have been given and the red was very harsh.

What do you think of Chuba Akpom being recalled?

Meh why not. Giroud's mind seems to be elsewhere.

I think this season died when Walcott was injured. Since then teams feel confident playing a high line against us and Giroud doesn't have the movement or the pace to challenge them. Before teams would hold back as Walcott is very quick and smarter than pundits give him credit for in timing his runs.

Ox, Gnabry & Rosicky aren't slow. The first 2 can certainly fill in. I've been a bit annoyed Gnabry hasn't played much in past games, not even as a sub. And as for Ox  can you develop a player in such a pivotal position during a title race?

They'll have to get a payday loan to be able to meet the €10,000 fine as well. Talk about being victimised...

Wenger speaks...

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-arc...asing-the-game

Its the same ol'd. A massive problem is Arsenal do not prepare well enough for the big games. Arsenes methods don't really believe in that aspect of tactical play.

See Gibbs and Oxlade C both escape punishment for the handball incident. Agree with Gibbs having the card quashed but why the Hell did the FA not pass the ban onto Chamberlain? Not read the story so if the reason is in the story then I wouldn't know.

Because it wasn't a red card offence.

A Football Association panel decided that referee Andre Marriner not only dismissed the wrong player, but that Oxlade-Chamberlain's goal-line handball did not deserve a red card. Neither player will serve any ban following the incident.

Marriner will referee Southampton's home game with Newcastle on Saturday. Refereeing officials felt that the 43-year-old, who apologised for mixing up the players' identities, should be given the chance to get over his mistake immediately, rather than being stood down for the weekend. All four officials who were involved at Stamford Bridge will officiate in matches this weekend.

To be honest I think we got a bit lucky with Ox getting the Red card overturned. It wasn't as if this was a ball to hand type moment, this was a fully fledged starfish dive to push the ball away. The ball was probably going wide and intent isn't meant to matter but I don't think that card would normally be overturned. I think it was given by the FA on the understanding that this is the end of the matter and Arsenal won't cause any problems with it.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

The biggest problem with Arsenal, is that Wenger has simply lost the plot. He doesn't bring in any good signings.

They play well at the beginning at the season and simply burn out towards the end.

Wenger may have done a 1000 games, but everyone goes stale. Bring in some else.

To the letter of the law it was the right call. Ox should have got a yellow. Had Ox had a yellow for another incident then could the panel of applied a yellow instead of the red = further action still required ?

Thats a bit extreme. Arsenal have been a top quality striker away from sitting pretty at the top of the league.

Ah right I see. Like I say I didn't read the article, was on the train and battery died on my phone so couldn't read it any further.

Don't think Wenger himself is stale, but certainly the tactics are stale. It seems he plays one system and one system only and doesn't adapt it to different teams. Bit like England in that respect, we seem to stick with the same tired old 4-4-2 formation, and then when we try something new the media kick off about changing the tactics.

Papers tomorrow have gone with the 'it never happened' version of events. I do think there has been a unspoken agreement that if The Ox gets off then so do the FA and everyone walks away happy.

Is it time for Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal?

http://www.itv.com/news/london/updat...espite-defeat/

I might not be an Gunner fan, but NINE YEARS without a trophy, ITV Londoins words not mine.

Not many clubs would put up with that, Wenger has gone stale and a big club needs blood and a new manager.

They got thrashed to the other, so l think the board at Arsenal need to think about a longer contract - they have offered Two years.

No Wenger should go and new fresh blood installed.
