do you use a credit or debit card? you are right of course as long as the item is paid for you should only need the receipt to pick it up

I guess if there is a problem they would want to be able to contact you, the CC will also need an address to confirm it's your card I guess.

But . . if they had the bugger in the store, I'd just pay over the counter with my debit card, pick the box up and walk out, right?

If they're transferring the item from one of their other stores to this one, (which is what they intended to do), why do they need all my damn info instead of allowing me to walk in, pay, and collect the damn thing.

Because if something went wrong with the delivery to the store they would need to contact you, it's still an order even if you get it from the store. If you just walk into the store to buy they won't need address or email info, but some stores these days do ask for an email address for the receipt( I'm looking at you New look) but you can just ask for a paper receipt. Ultimately if giving someone your email address is your issue then just give them one of them that you don't consider to be a main address, I have atleast 4 I use for various things.

If you order online like most people do these days and then want to collect it in the store, obviously you would still need to provide an email address to prove you ordered it because they will send you the order number and there are boxes to tick to tell them not to do anything with your information, I really don't see the problem.

decided to bite the bullet and order it . . for delivery (make them work for the info).

Failed at payment process, bank unable to send authorisation (again) . . probably because they don't have my phone number or email :D

Hey, knock it all you like but I know any emails or phone calls -supposedly - from the bank can safely be told to . . . do one ;)

I'm saving a fortune by not being able to spend my own money

So you do not even trust your bank with your phone number? I am guessing you do not use your banks app either? that is how most of my payments are verified through the app

Trust nothing and believe no-one, they walk among us, one mans lie is another mans truth, walls (and lizards) have ears, and finally, if all men (oh, and women) were created equal, I'm just glad the pattern wasn't the mother-in-law

:D
