Even though their EPG is still populated, the High Street shopping channel on channel 759 has been removed.

Pop on Channel 736 has now been removed from Virgin. Those who don't pay extra for the Kids Pack now only have access to the two BBC children's channels.

And POP and Tiny POP on Rakuten (along with others).
And POP on Pluto (along with others).
And ITV Kids on ITVX.

The whole reason the channels are closing is because less and less people are using linear channels. It is cheaper to stream.

No, and a VM discount will immediately be implemented for the loss ;)

With all this free capacity, it would be nice to get more HD and 4K.

i watch virgin media tv in my bedroom. i have no wall to mount it on. i can never get anything more than a 32inch tv (which is huge to me anyway) so it means i can never get a 4k tv!

If anything, more additions are likely through the FAST channel route as costs are lower for the channel owners. Of course the downside is you lose the ability to record, but most of these services consist of constant repeats anyway.

I think Virgin will get them for free (they may even get paid to carry them as they do with Freeview channels & radio stations) as FAST channel owners are able to monetise the fact that people can't stop the adverts being played.
