Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016) Vol 2

I've noticed today that the MTV Live HD dog has changed slightly.
'LIVE HD' is now under the MTV logo. It used to say 'LIVE' only.

So is it just MTV Live SD thats closing on Sky?

Viacom drop MTV Live SD on Feb. 15th and EPG Slot use for MTV Music +1.

MTV Live HD is set to be axe on Wednesday on Sky - no confirm word on Virgin Media UK.

Community Channel is set to close on Thursday as they have only 14% of the money they need to stay on air.

They initially said that it would close on the 30th, but this appears to now be "at risk of closure".

The MTV LIVE HD channel on 311 must be the international version as there are no UK commercials anymore. Must of changed yesterday when the DOG changed slightly

Community Channel now has 64% of the money they need to broadcast. (Info right at time of posting.)

Sky put in half the money needed yesterday.

VM must have started taking their feed off another satellite- probably to allow Viacom to fulfill a contractual requirement.

I dislike Sky with a passion, but credit where credits due. I think it's now time for the other companies who make money from selling TV to make a contribution.

Local TV has been a failure, using the spectrum for altruistic channels would have been better.

I wonder why MTV Live HD has been removed ?

Could it be Sky have dropped it from its Entertainment packages , let's be honest the music channels must have seen a decline in viewers of late.

No idea.

Sky only sign an new five year deal with Viacom last May.

I have seen online rumours of Sky talking to broadcasters (Disney, Discovery and UKTV) looking to save how much they pay them per month.

Or maybe for all we know it down to Viacom being 1% own by Liberty Media. (Chairman is John C. Malone).

Interesting about MTV Live HD going from Astra UK.

There's no mention of MTV Live HD on MTV UK's website anymore. I wonder if the channel staying on VM is a long term thing?

With this change, MTV Live HD becomes a VM exclusive, while MTV Classic is Sky only, (apart from VM Ireland)

Is, or was MTV Live HD available in VM Ireland?

As far as we know MTV Live HD is not broadcasting on Virgin Media Ireland - Latest 100% confirm list of channels on Virgin Media Ireland is from November 2015.

At time of posting we do not know if this mean Virgin Media UK has team up with Liberty Global and signed an new Europe wide deal with Viacom.

Our own view is: Why did Viacom not ask Virgin Media to drop MTV Live HD to launch MTV Classic for?
