Well, Sky does have 500 or so channels! Our tech is more geared to On Demand and recordings.

It is not so quick as it was changing channels. Would need a stopwatch to measure it but its noticeable. :(

There's a thread on the help and support forums about this-one poster suggested TiVo would benefit from a reboot now and again, but I must agree with Carl as I haven't noticed any issues either.

Will try a reboot - but its not that much of a worry at the moment

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

Couple of questions about the TiVo box.

1. If I was watching a programme, say for instance Holby on a Tuesday night, and somebody called me, if I hit record would it record the whole episode, ie from the start of it or just from the point I hit record, like the V+ box at the moment?

2. Is the TV on Demand the same content on the TiVo box as it is on the V+ box, or is it different?

You can rewind anyway.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

You would also get the entire contents of the buffer (however much there was in it) although Tivo would start playback from the start time of the actual show.

1. Yes.

2. No, more on TiVo. I player is an internet connected app rather than what they can fit on the headend so there's more BBC content, and some of the Sky stuff is only available in hd on the TiVo.

Thanks for all the replies, was installed this morning. Very friendly guy, very chatty and gave a through demonstration of TiVo. Felt sorry for him, to connect the second box up he had to get into a thick bush outside the house to get at the cable box outside.
