Mental health. Haven't been able to shake off this feeling of paranoia that I've been having for the last fortnight. It feels like everybody is out to get me, and I can't trust anyone either. It's a scary feeling.

My local hospital car park.

First they've dropped the free parking for blue badge holders.

Secondly the pay machines are placed in a crap place.

Thirdly you need a degree to use them as they are 0% user friendly, I struggle to understand it.

Forthly god knows how my mum will work it tomorrow.

But the main grip was I took my mum for a follow up appointment from Fridays 5 hours in A&E.

We got there at 9am, she had a blood test after a hour wait, then we had to wait 2 hours to see a Dr, then nearly 5 hours for a rheumatoid Dr.

So we left a 6:15 pm, over 8 hours wait.

The only good thing is that they came around with a tea trolley, and food was available for patient.

I went to the in house M&S shop, this was a joke as there was only sugar & fat free food & drink. No good if don't drink the cancer/laxative sugar free carbage, the sell.

Any neighbours with TV that you know?

You should also post your power levels in the appropriate thread, my guess is your levels are out of wack.

Usually when there is an area problem like yours, you will get a recorded message before you even press a button telling you that they are aware.

Yes the climate is change.

But what these emergency idits can't grasp or chose to ignore is the fact the planet is 5 billionish years old and that we still know nothing about it.

Plus we've had several ice ages come and go, infact we are still on the tail end of one which means as such the temperature will continue to rise then drop back again.

The rate of change is very different to any natural cause. That's what climate change deniers don't understand/ choose to ignore.

The problem has never been climate change throughout the planets history but the rapid pace and consequences of current climate change which is having significant effects on the planet now.

Also climate change now is very much due to human activity.

Genuine question-why does it matter it still comes out of your bank account?

tweetiepooh 05-03-2020 11:04

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Standing order is you pushing money to the recipient, if amounts change you need to amend the SO. You have control, you can just stop the flow. Also good for you to set up payments without needing the OK from the recipient.

Direct debit is recipient pulling money from you, they can change amounts and take what they "need" - useful if amounts change each time. The recipient sets it up.

Client that I'm writing some development C code for has closed down their factory and furloughed the staff. Means I won't have any experimental hardware for some time to test the code. I can run segments on a target board I have but it's not the same ARM processor but is the same family.

Their PCB layout guy is a subcontractor like me so he'll do the layouts at home but I guess the PCB manufacturers are probably shut down as well. Even if not the board would need to be assembled and it's all surface mount components. Not something you can make in a shed.

The majority are doing that now to avoid the massive queues. My store has changed their opening hours a lot, we now do 08:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday (was 06:00 to 00:00) and Sunday has been made 10:00 to 16:00 (was 12:00 to 18:00). By and large, we aren't getting long queues, but we still get the odd person who doesn't listen to the social distancing advice in the store. Can't wait for this to be over.

You would also think most people would use direct debit, I believe it's far less hassle and cheaper to pay that way too?

I can see people who struggle to make ends meet won't though so charging them extra isn't really fair.

Good question, it says it's secure in the browser i am using(the padlock is locked on the log in screen).

It seems to be listed as secure on the log in screen in Vivaldi, Firefox, Chrome and Edge maybe after log in that is where the issue is but as i am not a member i can't check.

Anyhoo it's paid now by cheque.

Anyhow how is it not secure online, is it via a tablet or the browser you're using, or maybe it IS secure now?

Hugh you should try using Vivaldi or Edge it is a far better experience than Google Chrome. :)

I don't get the locked padlock on the login but i do get a warning that the website is not secure, that's enough for me to bin it off and find an alternate way to pay.

Hope that answers Hugh's question as well.

Remember that the padlock only means the communication to the site is secure. The site itself may not be.

Thankfully the Minor Injuries Unit is handy, whilst the Trauma Unit I will need to visit, is another separate part of the main hospital.

I watch Supergirl, the Series started with a 5 part cross over "Crisis on Infite Earths"

Part 1 - Supergirl

Part 2 - Batwoman

Part 3 - The Flash

Part 4 - Arrow

Part 5 -DC Legends of tomorrow

Now heres the problem, I watch Supergirl and Legends of tomorrow, Sky 1 has aligned the episodes so that you could watch every epiode one after the other.

But Batwoman started 3 weeks ago ad part 2 of Crisis is Episode 9, so I have to hold fire on Supergirl for another 6 weeks then binge watch the Supergirl and Legends episodes.

I can't miss the episode and watch following episodes as it will have spoilers.

I'm trying to see if I can get Batwoman episode 9 before but without any luck.

It is available for free in the US but its region locked.

I don't know why but sometimes when I go to use that app, it won't load any links. It's the same in different houses I've took my Fire stick too.

Never loaded a link?

I have no issues on both my firesticks always get lots of streams on a VM connection, maybe it is the connection, have you tried it using a mobile connection? Maybe there are some setting on My virginmedia that need changing i can't remember, Virus Safe is turned off on my VM maybe that is the problem.

Like it won't give me any links even though I know there is some. It doesn't always do it though which I don't get.

I tried opera with a VPN but the dam sites only gives links to the app.

I've complained to channel four, hopefully they can drop all episodes on line.

Whats annoying is the rest of the planet saw this 6 months ago.

Did you see my PM? You must be doing something wrong or not following the webpage exactly as I have been side loading via the OTHER app which you need to install first without issue for years on 2 tablets and 2 firesticks.

PM me if I can help.

You need to install the apps not stream from a webpage.

#1stWorldProblems

As some are aware, I'm a paralegal specialising in personal injury as well as clinical negligence cases.

There is a difference between clinical negligence, and clinical complaints.

My employer specialises in and can help with the former. The NHS' own Patient Advisory Liaison Service deals with the latter.

Long waiting lists, NHS departments losing your notes, perceived nasty/arrogant/argumentative/ignorant NHS staff are all unfortunate and understandably annoying occurrences, but are not clinical negligence. No compensation is available or will be awarded for confirmed examples of these.

Also, to pursue a clinical negligence case the Law states it needs to be brought about within 3 years of the date you were made aware of something having gone wrong. This is not "company policy", neither is it "more proof that solicitors are in league with the NHS". It is the Law.

Finally, a Law firm can only take instructions from the Client, ie the person whose name will be on the compensation cheque. It doesn't matter if your partner "always deals with things for me". The only exceptions are when the Client is under 18, lacks mental capacity to deal with such issues and a Power of Attorney is in place or if the Client is deceased (in which case we deal ONLY with the next of kin or Executor).

The number of people who fail to grasp all this, despite having had it explained to them several times......

Somebody has brought in a company to pressure wash their driveway four doors down from our house.

So right when I'm trying to concentrate (as are many other others who are working from home) we have the monotonous hum of a petrol generator running for three and a bit hours. Then add to this they start putting flyers through peoples doors!!

It does come in hand if I need any advise in other matters.
