Yes l remember when my brothers came down to watch their home team play play my hometown team and it was disgusting hearing some of the chants and terrible language that was around us and to think women and children have to listen to that as well.:(:td:

I have heard unbelievable remarks from people when I've been in England games. Crystal Palace and Arsenal games, never really heard a bad thing, but England at Wembley. Shocking stuff. I can't repeat it here but it's worse than anything Terry or Suarez are alleged to have said.

And increasingly it not just football where we get this vitriolic behaviour but also it is happening in other sports as well and yes it is definitely a society problem which governments need to tackle.

I've heard racist stuff at Palace games a few times so it's not just the England games and of course England fans usually support a club side too

Southampton 2012 detailed accounts have been published: £11.9m loss (2011 loss £11.5m) #saintsfc
https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...4/51.jpg:large

Note that loss for #saintsfc holding company is £11.9m (2011 loss £11.5m), while loss for the football club is £8.4m (2011 loss £11.7m).

Some larger losses in Championship 11/12: Leicester £29.7m, West Ham £25.5m, Bristol City £14.4m, Cardiff £13.6m, #saintsfc £11.9m.

#saintsfc 2012 loss includes £9.5m exceptional once-off costs, due to PL promotion: mainly £5.3m staff bonuses & £4m to former loan creditor

Like other clubs, #saintsfc will benefit from PL promotion (profit for first 6 months 12/13 reported as around £1m).
https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...4/52.jpg:large

#saintsfc 2012 revenue of £22.9m up 40% from £16.4m in 2011, reflecting promotion to Championship from League One.

#saintsfc 2012 revenue £22.9m (2011 £16.4m): match day £11.8m (2011 £9.3m), TV £5.6m (2011 £1.4m), commercial £5.5m (2011 £5.7m).

#saintsfc 2012 profit on player sales £12.4m (2011 £0.0m), largely due to sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Arsenal.

#saintsfc 2012 accounts: average attendance increased from 22,161 to 26,427.

#saintsfc 2012 staff costs up 88% to £28.7m (2011 £15.2m), incl promotion bonuses of £5.3m, and wages to turnover ratio up from 93% to 125%.

#saintsfc 125% wages to turnover ratio not unusual in Championship: Bristol City 157%, Leicester 130%, Boro 119%, Forest 119%, Cardiff 103%.

#saintsfc highest director’s remuneration was a hefty £1.576m, almost certainly for executive chairman Nicola Cortese.

#saintsfc 2012 gross debt up to £41.8m (2011 £33.2m) – mainly shareholder loan of £38m plus bank loan of £3.8m.

Since year-end the #saintsfc £38m shareholder loan has been converted into share capital, virtually wiping out the club’s debt.

#saintsfc have to pay a former creditor £1m per annum for each year that the club stays in Premier League up to 2015/16.

#saintsfc also owed £7.5m transfer fees in 2012 accounts and had net transfer expenditure of £26.1m since year-end.

https://twitter.com/SwissRamble
now heres a club I'd like to see in the Premier League next year to reap rewards of the newly signed TV deal

Because of his huge physique it will be hard to keep himself fit and injury free as has been the case with other players similar to him.

The news that Niel Lennon is being hit with charges by the SPL has proved yet again what an idiot he is.

Celtic does not need a guy like him, he is a foul mouthed manager - and he will probably get away with it, you dont have digs at referees like he does.

I remember when he he a go with Ally Mcoist, this is what Scottish football is ruined.

I have little interest in Carroll and he's not popular in Newcastle, don't know what gave them that impression after he left Newcastle at the 11th hour for massive wages... It's not an impossible deal as we will be looking for a striker in the summer and if Liverpool wan't Ben Arfa then that's fine. A guy that's brilliant on his day but constantly injured for unknown reasons. Help yourself.

thenry, l totally agree with you. I haver a sneeky feeling that when QPR go down, Harry will be fired.

QPR took Harry on due to his magic turn a round with Spurs, but Spurs got winning soon after he took over. The players at QPR, somply fell away and have gone down drastically, l have seen most of the games on TV and will watch them tomorrow.

But to me they will get relegated, and watch the managerial roundabout start.

Why can't referees allow the game to flow, Mariner blew the whistle so much you could have added two or minutes each half.

The game has to be allowed to flow otherwise you lose the whole fun of the sport, and the lino must play more of a role, there were two calls for penalties in the Spurs game, but the officials are again blind.

I am a great football fan, but officials are ruining the game with stupid decisions.

Manchester United has sold the naming rights to its training ground as part of a sponsorship deal with insurance firm Aon estimated to be worth $230 million, a further sign of the Premier League leader's off-field money-making abilities.

Aon's name currently appears on United's main match kit in a $130 million, four-year deal, but General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet division takes over that sponsorship in a $559 million, seven-year deal from the 2014-15 season.

United bought out its previous training kit sponsorship deal with express delivery and freight firm DHL early in a bid to secure more cash, with that agreement having been worth around $65 million over four years.

Although United is now also selling the naming rights to its vast training center at Carrington in south Manchester, the club has no plans to sell the rights to its main stadium. "Old Trafford will not be sold," United's executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, said Sunday.

United, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, recently forecast record revenue this season of at least $537 million.

Forbes said in January that United's enterprise value, which subtracts debt from equity value, has risen to $3.3 billion, the highest for any sports team in the world.

But the fact remains once the referee makes his decision he ain't going to change it so we just have to accept whatever decisions come our way in the end..

Queens Park Rangers facing financial woe if relegated from Premier League

Queens Parks Rangers are facing the urgent prospect of having to restructure their finances if they are relegated to the Championship or be punished by either a future transfer embargo or a huge fine.

The Football League’s Financial Fair Play regulations come in to full force from the 2013-14 accounting year and it was confirmed yesterday that relegated clubs will definitely not be given additional time to adjust.
