With only just leaving will she have to travel back to the States for the interview?

Got a phone call today, having my pre-op appointment next week. Twenty to five though, so a late night for me. Pleased it is finally moving on though. Just over a month from seeing GP initially to pre-op appointment. Would still be waiting for an initial consultation on the NHS!

checked my bank account this AM and found 121 quid gone in I did not expect. It had CHD at the end of payment code so called Inland revenue and low and behold I have been award my Child benefit and I can claim tax credits so no bedroom tax possibly even less rent and possibly less council tax to pay. So in the end el gov trying to screw me with bedroom tax has ended up costing them more so lmao if it was not for the bedroom tax I would not have claimed CB

Profitable morning doing a refurb job on this old beast:

Attachment 24326

All boards and components stripped out of the case for a clean-up, 61 keys removed and individually cleaned, contacts and springs reseated and memory battery replacement. Good as new after 25 years use. Another one to do this afternoon which is not going to be fun at all though.

Apparently they'd been looking for me for months but couldn't track me down cause he worked in Germany and I'm over here.

I think this is the reward that I was given for being with him for the last 3 months of his life, making sure he doesn't have to die alone. It was the least I could do,I have no regrets and I'm just happy I could be there for him, although at times the pain and suffering was unbearable. Lung cancer is such an awful way to go,and he had problems letting go of life.It wasn't easy for him.

I basically let go of the work I was doing at the time, and thought being with him is more important,I have a whole life ahead of me to make money.

Funny how what goes around, comes around. I love Life!! :D

What a contrast. I wouldn't look after my step dad like that, in fact (sorry for crudeness here) I wouldn't even spit on him if he was on fire.

It's always galling for me when I see people who get on well with step parents when I cannot stand mine and the only good thing he has done is give me a half sister and half brother who I love.

Oh,I have had my fair share of issues with him, believe me.There was probably the best part of a decade where we didn't talk much at all. Fact is he's the only 'Dad' I had and he did bring me up and tried to be the best substitute he could be.

I don't think it's easy for either side, but I can more than just relate to your sentiment. :)

Oops, sorry, Russ! <sheepish>

I just started a Things Going Right Thread, only to have Russ point out that such a thread, i.e. this one, already existed. Oh well.

I just had a USB stick returned to me that I thought I'd lost for good, its contents - various stories, documents and, worst of all, hundreds of irreplaceable photos - consigned to oblivion by whoever found the stick in the library, where I thought I'd lost it, as they'd surely clear it for their own use.

Instead, I apparently lost it near a primary school, where the kids found it and handed it in! All the stuff I thought I'd lost forever is now safe and backed up to another stick! Yay! :D

Wow that sounds rough. I ain't got a clue to what you're going through but anything to do with feet tends to be a lot more painful than anywhere else.

Causing some mirth on one of my FF accounts this morning as I am currently trying to get to gripes, I mean grips, with text-speak because I realised that I come across as a right grumpy old lady when I criticise my younger relative's habit of using the dang txtspk when they talk to me on the family Facebook.

Oh, nearly forgot to report that Mrs Osem did her first karate grading on Monday evening and passed with Distinction so I now have a red belt wife and a black belt son. :)

Actually she did really well because very few students achieve the top grade in their first grading. Osem Jnr only got a Merit in his but he's since taken the opportunity to remind us that he achieved Distinctions in all his subsequent gradings up to 1st Dan so mum still has a lot to live up to.

So would that be Tng'd and what the heck does CSL mean, should I be taking a stick to the young uns? :D

If you only live once you're surely going to take less risks. I would skydive but this is the only life I get so nuts to that.

Oh the little monkeys. I had better be the latter but knowing them they will have used it because it could have a second meaning. Time to get even methinks. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/03/11.gif

I'm sitting here in the comfort of my own home mucking about on my lappy, outside the wind is howling and the rain is lashing against the window. What must it be like to be homeless on a night like this? I've got a lot to be thankful for.

I had a terrible winter once when I was classed as homeless but luckily I had a caravan to doss in. It was so cold the damp in my bed froze overnight and I would wake up curled in a ball in the middle lol

Hard to imagine Tizme we should count our blessing that we have not to suffer so much as other poor souls.

There but for the grace of God or more likely family members go all of us, it really doesn't take much to end up on the streets.

Perhaps sometimes we take too much for granted Daddy, we have an easy life now compared to many in this world.

Then even more about your ancient Brit in a stone or wood hovel and only skins or crude clothes, no decent shoes and a smokey open fire. Miserable.

We have a lot to be grateful for with our modern lifestyle despite the bills to pay for it.

But strangely Heeero we still find things to moan about.

you toughen up to it. In days gone by if the room was cold you put a jumper on if it was still cold you say in your coat. Central heating makes you soft . You can survive perfectly well in the most part at 10% but I bet a lot of you are up at 20.I got my heating on 15 degrees and I have had to take my hoodie off and im sat in a tshirt

Indeed we do have a lot to be thankful for Tinky and some of us just don't realise it as my sister works for the Salvation Army in London and she has seen a big increase in people out on the streets homeless in the past few years and although they do their best they cannot help everyone given the finances they have at their disposal.

Saw the consultant today, op booked for April 17th. Because of the diabetes, a normal one day procedure will see me stay for one or two nights. Hospital I'm going to give you your own room, a TV, WiFi access and meals.

Got to go for a pre admission appointment, where they will swab me for MRSA and the like and to meet the surgical team.

I would not want to meet them. What if you take an instant disliking to one or more of them. No way would I want to go through it then lol

I would take that risk. I've been suffering for the last couple of years so hopefully in a month's time no more irritation down there.

I'm sure you'll just be glad to get it over and done with Mark, and the 17th April is not too far off. Good luck with the op!:tu::hugs:

Ah well, a good raking out of 'no good to me any more', a skip or two, and DO NOT THROW OUT HER STUff! :)

Ask your good wife back for a final decision on items.
It's easy once you get started.

Pickfords might be a good way to start for removal and storage. They've done it before and will do it again.

In the meantime feel free to send all your music to me for safe-keeping... ;)
