I think Virgin are launching an HD Channel for Get Moving is due to Channel 997 being an only channel still not broadcasting in MPEG4 (Channel 997 is broadcasting in MPEG2 ON CO70 - https://www.digitalbitrate.com/dtv.p...ve=209&lang=en)

MadMax's house will resonate with the celebratory popping of champagne corks, interrupted only by his penning a hearfelt thank-you email to VM's CEO. :D

Some VM customers with older boxes have now had all their channels removed apart from channels 1 to 5. Some will be able to upgrade for free to a V6 box.

Call waiting times are said to be two hours plus on the Virgin Media Community Forum.

What amazes me about all this is how many have been complaining about having no prior warning.

It's one thing to not get emails, that can happen very easily. And physical by-post mail can get mistaken for junk mail and binned. But there have been on-screen messages.

Maybe some were afraid of becoming infected by the new equipment??

Either way, with the fallout continuing from Covid 19, it was a dumb idea to still go through with it

Considering the V box swap outs have been going on for at least 4 years and I'm pretty sure the messages to customers for the boxes that stopped working this week have been there in one form or another for a good six months or more, I can't see why anyone would connect it to Covid.

As for the timing it has been delayed as much as it could - which is again why it's take 4 years to complete. Unfortunately sometimes technical changes have to happen no matter the circumstances.
