And the dreaded thumbnails problem is back. Grrr. And now I am stuck, I either install 10130 again, or go back to 8. This is not good enough by MS.

What exactly is the problem?

I get to see the folders and icons on the desktop, but when I go into a folder, there are no thumbs. The folders don't even show up. All I get is the name of the file, and that is it. I have reset folders back to default, made sure the option to show icons, never thumbs is not selected and every solution on the internet. Nothing works.

I can't really help other than googling, I guess you have reset the icon cache?

I wonder if your antivirus is affecting it if that is possible?

Well, onto the latest build and it all looks pretty good.

Well, aside from the Citrix Receiver not installing at all, but hey ho, that's probably for Citrix themselves to fix.

Supposedly the latest version is W10 compatible https://www.citrix.com/downloads/cit...indows-43.html

Wouldn't even think about launching for me on build 10166 or the current one. Will try again tonight however and re-download.

Thanks for the tip, if it fails again I'll send feedback to Citrix directly.

I went back to 7 a week ago but fancy trying this new build but when I go to the download page the option to select it is greyed out, is this because I downloaded the previous version?

I think MS advised people not to go off the insiders preview during the RTM stage release as they're testing the public updated method, not sure when it'll return but maybe try to get hold of the clean iso for this build.

You sure swap versions of windows alot! Must take alot of your time.

I didn't think you could activate a new build now i.e. if you're not upgrading from an existing version of W10, you can't do it till the final release

The Windows team has pulled all the Insider builds as well as their ISOs and is only allowing upgrades to Windows 10 10240 via Windows Update. This is specifically designed to stress-test Microsoft’s systems ahead of the official release later this month. But this also means that activating any of the previous builds no longer works.

In other words if you were thinking you might do a clean install on a device like the Surface 3, this isn’t a good time. Your only option would be updating from an existing Insider build that’s already activated.

Yes, but you can't go from Win 7 or 8 straight to 10240. You'd have to go via an earlier build, and you now can't activate those. See this twitter exchange

We've removed ISOs and keys. At this point there isn't a supported clean install path. Just upgrades from here until 7/29.
