i see, sorry my bad.

Even just basic browsing you can tell the difference in the way a page loads or a video plays so a 50% increase in speed should really be noticeable for a few days at least.

Then again I have my Firefox running at full speed as well by playing around with it.

once you get to about 2mbit, speeds above that make little real difference to web browsing on other than maybe media heavy sites. Like gallery's with dozens of images on or high res images. Certianly wont be a difference between 20 and 30mbit.

30mbit of course helps for torrenting, iso downloading etc. ;)

What will make browsing faster is uncongesting people's upstream's.

It will help with videos as I mentioned above.

Cheers, shall I give a call to customer services, or is there no need?

I'd be amazed if they were prepared to shell out what it would cost to get a delivery time that precise from a courier. It will have been put onto your local tech's job sheet for that day.

HDNL/YODEL are trying to become more efficient by giving timeslots where possible and the opportunity to change the booking online if required.

It will happen but maybe not for a while yet. But as they are replacing 20Mb with 30Mb, all customers with elligable equipment will eventually be moved to 30Mb.

You will only stay on 20Mb if you have an older modem or hub.

Then the company you work for is guilty of misleading advertising

http://shop.virginmedia.com/existing...broadband.html

No mention of existing superhub users. If any "activation" is involved then those who have superhubs should also need it surely.

Unless of course "activation" is a misnomer meant to mislead.
