To be fair denphone the 1st England innings was disasterous apart from Prior and Swann who did their best to add a few after a top order collapse,Englands bowling seemed a bit stiff at first then they did start to take wickets Trott included.

But the 2nd top order collapse makes me think pakistan have done their homework and will be no pushover England will have to up their game,at the moment England look to me like a team thats not played togeher in a while and need to get into "team" mode very quickly.

England lose further wickets after tea and look to be heading for a heavy defeat on day three of the first Test against Pakistan in Dubai.

Yes l really did not expect this type of performance after our glorious summer against India but it seems to me England still have a big problem against certain spinners.

Captain Andrew Strauss says England will not make any dramatic changes in the wake of the 10-wicket defeat by Pakistan in the first Test in Dubai.

Strauss's side were bowled out for 192 and 160 in a loss that leaves them 1-0 down in the three-match series.

"There's plenty of things to ponder but we won't push the panic button," said the 34-year-old.

"We are disappointed with the way we played but we will show character and come back stronger."

Re: Cricket

Yes i think Strauss is right England have not played together in a while and they looked rusty especially in the batting dept, added to that the fact this is pakistans home series and they are all fired up after recent events, mean that England need to do some re-thinking and get on with it.

Thats what i think Andy Flower will be trying to instill in the team also,he like Strauss is a non panicker and i would expect England to play with more purpose in the 2nd test.(Hopefully ;))

At least i can have a lie in tomorrow thanks to the team for that at least as no getting up to watch sky sports.!!!!

Andy Flower has admitted England were not fully prepared for the Test series against Pakistan.

The tourists were beaten by 10 wickets inside three days in the opening Test in Dubai.

It was their first Test in five months, and their first defeat since losing to Australia in Perth in December 2010.

"To be quite frank, I think we might have been a little undercooked after people's time off pre-Christmas," team director Flower told BBC Sport

Yes there have been many who have said that the 50 over game is dead and but from some of the games l have seen l think that news of its death is greatly exaggerated.

Hopefully denphone as i love the 50 over format rather then the pro 40 stuff.

Australia are touring this year and my county Essex have been given a proper 50 over one day game against them, rather then a 3 day no result fest.

The 40 over game in the uk is rather odd as the international format is 50 overs as per the old friends provident 50 over comp, before it went all 20/20.:)

England bowler Chris Tremlett looks unlikely to be fit for the second Test against Pakistan on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old, who bowled only 21 overs in the first Test, taking no wickets, did not take part in training on Tuesday with a sore back and side.

Captain Andrew Strauss said he was hopeful that Tremlett would be fit to bowl in the nets but the seamer was unable to do so.

Yes well done to Ricky Ponting on that wonderful achievement.!

Bad news on Tremlett though denphone, i hope England try two spinners in the upcoming test and see how Swann and Panesar work together, they might get more out of the pitch then the seamers.
