Agree. Rest players after you get a lead. Never understand managers presuming they can play a weak team. It's as if they have never heard of a cup upset before :D

Well done to lovely Wigan, it goes to prove that money cannot buy you everything.

Going onto the Spurs issue. I have been supporting Spurs since l was a kid, l am 62 now. Spurs have always been poor in the last section of anything, they try for.
I remember when they were going to sign Charlie George, Spurs gave him till the Monday to decide and he chose another club, just like Willian.
I am appalled by the decision to appoint Sherwood. Previous players that have also managed Spurs have all been sacked.

Sherwood, says that he loves the club, well he then must go back to his old job and let Levy bring in someone with the experience, and Gaal has that.

Its no good Sherwood giving his players a rollocking after the game, when Spurs went a couple down - why didn't he take off Lennon or Vertonghen and bring on Soldado - who is there golden boy.

Sherwood is a one hit wonder and has NO EXPERIENCE at running a big club like Spurs. Levy won't bring back Harry, Harry's head was on court business and also the England thingy, and we lost the points on Arsenal - thats why he was sacked.

Wigan won't have to worry about Arsenal - they win anything this season.

Like the Arsenal of old.

I think that the surprise of the FA Cup is going to bring out a shock - Its Sheffield for me - why, this is what the FA Cup is - dreams, and the outsider is there.

I am going for its Sheffield for me, and dare l say it Chelsea for the PL title. And David Moyes to be sacked as manager of United.

Indeed Arsenal will settle for any win this season. Just like the Arsenal of old. The Arsenal of old who have won 2 of 13 top division league titles at White Hart Lane, the same amount of league titles, 2, that Tottenham have won in their entire history.

I am positive but wary. People are talking as if the FA Cup is Arsenal's already but it isn't. We still need to win two games and one of them, Wigan, have already beaten Manchester City in Manchester. They'll be confident and have nothing to lose. Arsenal are favorites by a long margin but we were favorites to win the Carling Cup. We need a strong team to play and we need to take Wigan very seriously.

Arthurs gonna be taken away by men in white coats. I loved the fact that last Saturday Samuel Eto'o went down as easy as Bale used to. And I loved that Verplonker fell over whilst attempting a shimmy in defence. It made a change from him falling over whilst pulling an attackers shorts down, or feigning injury. Please thank your manager for playing half the team out of position, it was a masterstroke. All in all, Saturday was a very very very good day :cleader:

Fifteen minutes to go then. The mystery of that six-man Arsenal bench could be down to the fact that Ryo Miyaichi flew out to Munich but isn't eligible to play.

There are reports that the Arsenal management didn't realise that he was unavailable until they arrived in Germany... From the beeb that was. I think Pardews first 3 banned games include a stadium ban as well.

Arsenal were unlucky tonight - although l am a Spurs fan.

It didn't help when Arsenal conceded, and it was harder as the game went on - but Arsenal didn't show what they are made of.

It didn't help when the biggest cheat on the field - Robeen kept going down at every opportunity, and if that was a penalty by Robben, then l will pack up being a fan.

He went down so easily. but there again this is what foreign players to to get a pen.

Bad Luck to the gunners, but just think they could be out of the FA cup as well - what a shame:(

I think 3rd if to be expected and winning the FA Cup would finally get that monkey of our backs if we can do it.

It's not a monkey to anyone other than the media and wums, fa cup, league cup, Europa league etc mean nothing to the big clubs, it's all about the prem and champions league and this was arsenals best season to do it

Not just injuries but also a failure to get two or three more players as strength in depth is very important when injuries and fatigue comes along.

The FA Cup isn't the one we all want but it would be nice to win something at this stage. I think this season we've clearly made progress and if we end it without worrying about CL qualification and with the FA Cup then I'll be happy.

We could be out of it at some point yes. Much like Spurs are now. However we're one of the few that isn't at the moment.

I should've took that as a reference of Spurs failing then. I missed it. :drunk:

there has long been concerns over this matter but the one massive obvious concern is that the squad is drained out. depth has been a problem for many years now. burning out players isn't the way forward!

It's not going to get any better with Andy rolls there that's for sure, under his expertise the hammers were left without any centre backs or centre forwards for a large part of this season

He was head of sports science and medicine, not sure what he does at arsenal, not a lot by the look of it, carrying on where he left of with us.

 if thats true then it sums it all up. Wenger apparently went berserk when Theos stomach issue turned out worse than told. it amazes me if the above is true that further trust has been put in the incompetent medical team. things have clearly not been the same since Gary Lewin left.

My fear is that the only spirit I will see, is if I open up the bottle in my cupboard.

When l said ' Could be' re Arsenal in the FA Cup, they have yet to play Wigan. And Wigan wont just colleapse to Arsenal.

Arseanl wear out towards the end of the game, and with Whinger Wenger complaining all the time at officials. I take Wigan to win by the odd goal.

I've only seen that rule enforced (Badly at times) in England. You might as well be asking what that bloke in yellow to the side of the goal does as well.

Yep. I think that's him finished for European games this season. To be honest, I reckon he'll now struggle to find a game of Boules down his local park to referee.
