Good price for the Max, I didn't notice much difference when comparing with my old 4K but I bought it anyway for these reasons and don't regret it and just use my old 4K in the bedroom.

1. BBC iPlayer supports UHD on the Max but not on the Standard 4K
2. WiFi 6 support

P.S sideload TeaTV or BeeTV on it. :D

I've used this for a day and it is an awesome piece of kit to turn an Android Auto wired only car into a wireless one where you can keep your phone in your pocket.

Ideal for short journeys(I've used it for a 30min commute each way to work) where I wanted to use a satnav like Waze for live traffic and potholes etc as well as music.

For longer journey of hours it's not needed as you would have to plug your phone in still for a charge.

My Kuga has Sync3, and when I plug my Note 10+5G in to the cars USB port it loads Android Auto to the screen and I get Google Maps in satellite mode.

I can also talk to my Alexa Echo Auto as well

Somewhat confused , when I get in the car android auto comes on , can see phone and also Google maps , all I did was put it on phone, haven't plug into anything. " Turn it off"by using VPN on phone, then it's just Bluetooth connection :erm:

Yes that's what Android Auto does in any car if your car is compatible with Android Auto you may benefit from other free features, it may even support wireless Android auto, my preference is Waze(owned by Google) over Google maps for Satnav, it is community driven so it will tell you where pot holes are police and stationary traffic as well as better speed camera notifications. I would be happy to use Google maps all the time if it had those features though.

So I've been using the wireless Android Auto dongle for nearly a week and it's fantastic, love not having to drag phone out pocket and plug it in on my commute to work.

Shouldn't be confusing if you understand what Android Auto does.

Your car supports wireless Android Auto if that pops up on car display without plugging phone in.

You now have the ability to chose what Satnav or music streaming apps you wish to use on your cars display and many others, your phone data will be used.

These are apps you first install on your phone.

I was confused why ,what I took to be a new car needed all that fhaff :D Pefer the Yukon sat nav built in. it's also the car I am more likely to use it in 😄 question any idea how much data per hour Google maps uses when in car , no reason for asking , just curious :dunce:

I use Waze(my satnav) and music streaming app in the car for 1hr a day plus another 1hr at work browsing so that's 10hrs a working week and over a course of a month less than 4gb a month.

My app data says119mb for Waze and 1.4gb for Tidal my musc app for the last month.

Your car may have a satnav built in but if it's like my built in satnav I don't use it won't give you live traffi reporting upto date speed cameras, pot holes and always have the current map for free.

If it does all that for free then you may as well use that.

Don't you just hate a dishonest wall. :D I don't know how they can just stand there looking all innocent and then force someone else to have to pick up the pieces.

Sorry couldn't resist. Long time since I heard the word integrity used in this way. John used to work with a builder who specialised in work on listed buildings and it was one of his most used words. :) Always made me smile especially as he was a very "ecky thump" type of talker.

I recommend giving Waze a go, it's owned by Google but has better features, better speed camera notifications better traffic notification including pot holes and cars stopped on the road.

If you really want satellite view over features you maybe better off with Google Maps as Waze doesn't have that.

Second for Waze - it also has real-time feedback from users/drivers (I was asked yesterday as I went through some roadworks (but without any delay) if the roadworks were still there).

Mine seem to have a mind of its own. The G Hub just resets and changes the tracking sensitivity DPI constantly. I ain't alone with this problem either. The only way I can get around it is by not having variable DPI settings or macos and just have the one setting only.

When spending £15+ on a bottle 44p doesn't make a big difference. Does have a bigger impact on the £5 vinegar some sellers push.

And when they reduce Mrs G's favourite from £12 to £9 and then offer the 25% on top it's a deal too good to miss. We've still got about 35 bottles left but will stock up if the double deal is on tomorrow when we go.

How long will that last you, a week? :D

Should last to Sunday at least. It's being delivered on Saturday evening.

Ah, well I've sent 12 bottles back thanks to Sainsbury's crap substitution policy. I ordered 6 x 6 bottles. But it turns out of that if they only have 5 bottles of a wine in stock, they give you one bottle of something else, and don't give you the 25% off any of them.

Re: What have you just bought?

The single item does not have to be the same as the other five to get the 25% - but they should replace it with an item in the 6 for 25% offer.

It is any 6 items in the 25% offer than can be chosen - doesn't have to be 6 of the same. Most bottles of £6 or over are in the offer.

It would normally be a manual picker error if you got provided a bottle not in the offer.

They have previously done offers like that, but this time all 6 had to be the same.

The driver told me the pickers don't get any choice in what to substitute. Their PDA tells them what to pick.

Tesco just delivered my weekly shopping. I did not allow subs. So I got 2 Golden Virginia tobacco and nothing else. My Tesco is the largest in the UK (just checked, not true anymore), WTF?

My wife works there - she has no idea how the substituition logic works. We've sometimes had the same flavour of a totally different product sent.

Some of their search logic on their website is odd too.

A large bag of 10mm gravel to finish off the top of a wall that I'm rebuilding. Some of the original topping is still there at each end but I want the new work in the middle to blend in.

The wine I normally buy from Asda has had the new tax applied. Up by 17p in Wales, so saved a couple of quid by bulk-buying on Monday.

I'm ashamed to say we save a few quid most weeks :erm:

Ditto, but I am not ashamed of drinking red wine at home, rather than throw money at pub landlords and restaurants owners. It's my only "vice" these days, so fully expect the puritans to push politicians to wean me off it by financial bullying.

Re: What have you just bought?

:) all true. I enjoy drinking the stuff at home as well and thinking about how much I've saved. Pub prices for wine as you say are crazy.

I'm also happy to have found a wine that suits me to a T. Hardy's Shiraz from Asda. It was sub-£5, then someone snitched to Welsh Arsembly and Minimum Price for Alcohol was applied, lifting it to £5.07.

They've got another Shiraz (Nice Drop). 13.5% again, but only £4.25. It's a bit "thin" for my taste. Oddly, whilst the Hardy's has jumped to £5.25, it is still at £4.25 with MUPA not applied.

A dashboard cover for the car (they sell at around £35 in the UK, but AliExpress sells them at £13, and that includes UK VAT).

They reduce reflections in the windscreen from the dashboard surface.

We’ve just been and bought new curtains and two sets of bedding for the main bedroom, because apparently we’re getting it re-decorated…
