Considering your teams recent performance in the competition, looks like we are both out of luck and this year you won't even have the League Cup to console yourselves with

A draw was a fair result, a game of two halves;) . Typical Chelsea goal from a dead ball kick, Drogba with a two handed push in Ferdinands back, Terry arms all over another defender. How is that although Terry tries to take out a defender like this all the time, he only gets pulled up when he does it for England.

And yet we still require a point for qualification. I really am worried now. ;)

I'm sure I speak for the majority of Man U fans by saying, the league cup was never a consolation. I'd forgotten about it to be honest, until your reminder. The main aim for me, is the premiership, always has been, and always will be. Champions league, is a bonus competition as far as I'm concerned.

There's huge satisfaction in being champions in your own country, european success is just an extension of domestic success.

I would be worried, what ever happens you have finished second in the group behind Celtic, in fact had you played them in a two legged knockout you'd be out! Not that I am knocking Celtic but they are made up of journeymen from the Championship.

As for your League Cup didn't Fergie say that the club sets out to win a trophy a season, must be going for the FA cup this year then.

Erm........maybe you should think about that one again. ;)

As for we would be out, if it were a 2 legged match, do you seriously think if it were, we would have adopted such an offensive style ? A league format is a lot different from a straight knockout format.

Every manager worth his corn, will say they aim to win a trophy a season. I'm pretty sure Fergie wouldn't have seen last season as successful either.

Yes you are right, I was assuming that you'd both win your final games, you could of course lose to Benfica and be out all together :p:

4. Ronaldinho (Barcelona)

My god man - you might be close to it but your not out yet. There's no need to start that talk. At least wait until AFTER the benfica game before deriding the competition, that's what most "fans" do when they have just went out.

Although - your probably right to put a few escape clauses in just now so you can dig yourself out later.

Where exactly did I "deride" the competition ?

I merely stated a fact, I place more importance on winning the premiership. And if we fail to win the premiership, feel free to ridicule, my stance will still not change. Premiership first, champions league, a distant 2nd.

Which also makes Motherwell better than Man U...........oh and Kilmarnock too. ;) Yet another of your posts that defies logic.

Hmm, i've had this discussion with mates and some do seem to see the "home" league as the bigger win; however IMO The Champions league is the biggest competition - the Premiership is second to that in terms of status, not that i think Man U will win it anyway.

I just wonder financially, which is bigger... (I've no idea).

I was just checking to see if you were actually aware of "your own" teams results. It's just that you seemed to be too pre-occupied with other teams to possibly notice "your own".
