Don't really rate him, perhaps he's matured since his Hull days, I really like the Argentinian right back your club has been linked with though, top quality.

Have to agree with this. I was a bit worried when we were linked with him. Granted he has a very good goals record in Holland but its a mile apart from this league. It's not a massive gamble if it doesn't work out but looking back I'm glad we lost out on luuk de jong too. We'll have to watch Altidore and Bony this year and see how it goes.
On our end however we seem to be settling on Darren Bent. Genius. The team with the so called quality of finishing in the top 6... I'd settle for safety right now...

You sure it's Darren bent your after Roy kinner said something about Marcus bent  :D

Tbh bent will be a good signing for your club imo, you know what you'll get from him, goals guaranteed.

Newcastle set to buy Jeroen Zoet from PSV Eindhoven to be keeper Krul's understudy
9 Jul 2013 22:30

Holland U21 international will presented to manager Alan Pardew as a done deal by Joe Kinnear and Mike Ashley

Newcastle are swooping for PSV Eindhoven keeper Jeroen Zoet in a deal set up by new supremo Joe Kinnear.

Holland Under-21 international Zoet, who has spent the last two seasons out on loan at PSV's Dutch rivals RKC Waalwijk, is heading for Tyneside after the clubs thrashed out a £2.5 million fee.

The 22-year-old will be understudy for fellow Dutchman Tim Krul, but his arrival may increase the chances of the Geordies' highly-rated number one being sold.

The transfer is the idea of Kinnear and owner Mike Ashley - manager Alan Pardew is being handed the shot-stopper as a done deal.

Zoet’s imminent capture will raise doubts about the future of Rob Eliot, who stood in for the injured Krul over the final weeks of last season.

No one at Newcastle earns more than 80k a week. So essentially the wage cap is at Colo who's on that but we wouldn't even allow Bent that to be fair.

If he was given more matches by the manager he is more then good enough.

Not too sure yet Den. I suppose Mignolet is the catch of the window so far, that's a sound bit of business. As for the others time will tell as I've not seen enough of Aspas and nothing of Luis Alberto to form an opinion. Of course it also depends on how Brendan Rodgers wants to set the team out next season which is something nobody really knows. Toure should do will providing he stays off the Mars bars and his wife's hormone pills.

Unfortunately for Suso, he's graduated alongside a crop of players who seemed to think they were better than reality dictated (Shelvey, Pacheco to name but a few) so a season out of the spotlight to develop a bit of composure and mental focus will do him the world of good.

Sunderland have reached an agreement with Juventus over Emanuele Giaccherini, with the midfielder expected to fly into England to put pen to paper on a four-year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of £8.6million.
