2 Ring induction Hob (counter Top) took a punt on a as new refurb from Appliances Direct £49 paid £15 for next day delivery.

5 piece Scoville Neverstick Pan set from Asda. £35 but they gave me a tenner voucher due to me needing to refund a couple of items and late delivery of my Christmas shop

Both obviously to use together and they are both excellent. The induction hob makes a huge difference in heat up times and the control, my goodness

Induction is no good to me as I have a pacemaker. I read an interesting article though from a keen cook/chef who like me would still want a gas hob. They also showed that gas (can be) quicker than induction and not all induction hobs can use all the "burners" on high at the same time. Also hard to sear pepper skins on an induction.

I hope you're liking the huge TV upgrade, take care about burn in though as I keep hearing LG OLEDS suffer from this especially with gaming, I think the TV will have options to help with that.

Very unusual stand it's got room for very little equipment.

They certainly do as mine will testify to. It's a 2017 LG and is showing significant permanent retention of the Sky Sports News and GMB logos but only really see it against certain backgrounds. It's technically fade out rather than burn in as the red pixels fade faster than the rest. The modern sets are supposedly more resilient but only time will tell.

Now I need to get a new DVD player, the old one was SCART.

Been look around at maybe a Blue-ray player. But so many with better ratings have loads of smart features I don't need as I already have them on TiVo, TV and Firestick. Multi-region would be good but not essential. Costco have the Sony UBP-X700 for £199.

The stand is very nice. The shelf can hold V6 and standard TiVo with a bit of space for another small unit. One issue is that the legs can attach at slightly different angles, nett effect - TV isn't horizontal so I need to disassemble and set up the legs properly. Support from the manufacturer has been excellent.

It is going to take some getting used to have a screen so high up and so big. I don't know how people round here manage with even bigger screens. Even from where I sit, a couple of metres from the screen my eyes still need to scan around a bit.

Does the player have component video / audio output? I use this from our player/HDD recorder to the TV as it can output pure RGB in progressive scan for better quality

It has RGB SCART. Been reading and most converters don't handle RGB so would need to spend a bit more on one of those. Found one that does do RGB -> HDMI at around £40, most units that do RGB cost as much as a new player.

Ours was £10 dearer but its now fixed for the next 3 years. Did the same haggle with car insurance and saved nearly £40 on that, again fixed for 3 years.

Today I received an email from Morrisons offering free daily deliveries until next Thursday.

So I made an order for cigs and cat food to test it out.

It was due to arrive between 5 and 6. But I've just had an email saying all the items are out of stock.

So I've repeated the order for tomorrow.

They will only send 5 packs of cigs, so I've put in orders for them for every day until next Thursday.

So my beloved BMW 325 convertible finally gave up the ghost the other week - I probably used the indicators far too much and she wasn’t used to it. Either way I was gutted as she was by far the best car I’d had although I won’t miss getting my head sunburned when I’d have the top down for too long…

Anyway I replaced it with a Mondeo 2.2 TDCI Titanium X Diesel. First time I’ve ever owned a diesel and yesterday I took it to pick my son up so had a good long drive. Really impressed with it so far, it has quite a few gadgets the Beemer didn’t have and although it’s 20 BHP less you wouldn’t know it. Still trying to figure out what a lots of the gadgets do…

One of the best thing is the crazy boot space. In the Beemer I’d really struggle to get my son’s bike in it, most of the time I couldn’t get it in so it would have to go on the back seat with the roof down.

With the Mondeo it fits right in with loads of space to spare.

Happy Russ now…

I like my 16 plate Mondeo estate except for the headlights that are awful. And you have to take the front of the car off to change the bulbs. If there were an easy and legal way to upgrade that didn't cost the earth I would. Reluctant to try the brighter bulbs as they have shorter life and as I said, changing headlight bulb is not a side of the road job. My old Escort was about right, couple of clips, pull the bulb out, change, push back in and tighten clips.
Also the 16 plate just missed the upgrade to Sync3 on the audio platform but Sync2 is OK.

1x 1TB WD Black PCIe Gen 4.0 Nvme and 2TB Crucial P3 Gen 4.0 Nvme ordered for new build that will happen at some point. (using this years cost of living payments to buy me the upgrade)
Had to order now cuz it gets me The Last of US Part 1 free which is £35 and seeing as I would be buying these SSDs at some point I may as well take advantage of the offer (interest free paypal credit)

My logic is (although I know I do not need to justify it) the cost of living payment will be frittered away on takeaways and more expensive shopping than I normally buy so by the end of the year there will be nothing to show for it. Upgrading my PC with it will give me long term pleasure seeing as I spend most my life entertaining myself online

I ordered a Dyson Corded Hoover, as I read they were fantastic and quite light £280 from Argos Store, When we took it back to the house and found it was too heavy to push along the carpet , We took it back the next day to get another make, and they said I am sorry you have used it I cannot take it back. I said I had to push it on the carpet to try it, But no way would they take it back, I phoned Argos on line and complained , they said if you had bought it on line we could have taken it back, But if the store said No we can do nothing about it, , So it was £280 down the drain, I ended up giving it to my granddaughter and I am back to my old Botch hoover cleaned out with new brushes, Be careful when buying from Argos,

Oh I am so envious, I would dearly love another dog, especially a border collie. Our rescue dog we had for 8 years, and 15 years later I still miss him dearly. RIP Tommy x

My near neighbours have one about 8 months I guess , really nasty ,but it picked on the wrong dog the other day , out with my three in local field and went over to my K,C S growling and arching back , unlucky for her my Rottweiler ran over and sat between them , followed by my German shepherd . Who lay down next to her . They are very protective of her . Out walking she tends to been between them ,but this time were playing ball so not next to her:rolleyes:

Replaced our Netgear R7000 with an Asus RT-AX86U Pro thanks to Amazon Spring Sale. This unit is an upgraded version of the AX86U (non Pro).

Still getting used to it and it's differences. Everything seems to be working so far.

My wife bought an Air Fryer earlier in the week.
Its already getting quite a bit of use by the family.

I did my weekly chips in it today, they came out just fine.
Should save a bit on electric as we normally use the cooker.

Can’t wait to see what Bodhan will think or when he comes next week. He loves messing about with Alexa on my firestick so this should keep him nicely quiet for a week or so

I have 2 Dots, and 3 shows.

They help with my home automation

We were shopping for some groceries at Morrisons, and I noticed they had a "buy 6, get 25% off" wine deal.

SWMBO’s preferred tipples are Chablis and Sancerre, and they have both crept up (everywhere) in the last year to around £16 per bottle - lo and behold, Chablis at Morrisons was reduced to £12 a bottle, and the 25% reduction was on top of that making it £9 a bottle - quite a saving.

Bought her 3 bottles, and some Amarone, Barolo, and Barossa Shiraz for me - bargain!

Some Navy Rum.

I got into Rum last year when my dad was in ICU last year, I was staying at my sisters and I was going to drink some Vodka I had left there, but my niece had drunk it, so I tried some Lidl Liberte Rum, I loved it and been trying the other Spiced Rums.

Not a big rum fan, but at a Whisky Festival last week, I tried Hampden Estate 8 Year Old, and was very impressed - very smooth.

You often see Kraken at the supermarket, a spiced rum from Trinidad and Tobago. I prefer their 1919 but that naturally has quite a vanilla note so not for those who don't want spice on their rum.

Aldi do some nice Whiskies. Their 8yr blend, Highland Black, is pretty nice but the price has been rising £14-15 while their single malts also very good are still £17.

Treated myself to a new cordless kettle and also another Brita Filter jug as the old ones were looking grubby and I was craving to spend a few £s.

Just been on a Costco run, buying a year’s supply of Andrex and kitchen roll.

Also bought a couple of slabs of San Pelligrino Aranciata & Limonata (aka Waitrose Fanta & Sprite), some Lawn Repair kits, boxes of AAA & AA batteries, and some 12YO Glenfiddich (x2)…
