So which forum has he been banned from now? I checked the ones I could think of. Oddly enough he's actually an interesting guy to talk to "face to face". It just seems that hackles are raised when the written word is employed. Ah well, I feel a commiserating email coming on :D

As much as I enjoy watching PITA members from CF getting banned or in trouble on other forums (and vice-versa) I would discourage such talk on here. This has happened in the past (lol and we always won ;)) and can start off inter-forum wars which isn't something we want to encourage. As it stands CF is often used by other media as a valuable resource for news, information and telco stuff so although our current mix of nuggets is 'colourful' enough, we don't want to end up putting potential noobs off :)

(and as for emails, we'll never make them public but the crawling/begging/insulting/"I know where you live etc" emails the team gets after a door-slammer starts to miss the place or a troll gets booted never fails to keep us amused :Peace:)

Still - my happy thought : More training next week :) Cooked Natalie a meal last night which didn't poison her so all is good.

how do you define winning?

Do you not think a noob reading the T&C specially things like the gods clause might find the control here a little oppressive and off putting in itself? this is not me starting anything its just my 2p worth

Well when the person thinks they are smart enough to come back and that the mods don't know fine well who they are.

They are just watched so the second they step out of line they are on a one way ticket back to bansville.

Possibly, but then hopefully they realise every forum has rules. I never want to see anyone leave but if they cannot or will not tolerate our T&Cs then the alternative option is there. There is a well-known pub in Swansea that is known for not having music on in there. No live bands, jukebox, nothing. Personally I object to that, I can't stand the lack of atmosphere. So rather than bring some mates in with instruments and start up an acoustic set I simply avoid the place.

That's possible. But there are always 2 sides to each story and from the subsequent rants I get shown from Facebook, some people are very happy to only promote their version of things.

My first edition of our local church newsletter has all come together nicely :)

It's almost like being at work again. Honing my computer skill can't be a bad thing, and it shows I can do the work despite not being qualified - maybe enough to get a job in the long run :)

Two happy thoughts today.

a) received my contract for my new job (it's not real until you have the signed paperwork) - countersigned, scanned, and emailed, with hard copy following in the post

b) my wife and I are off to New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania next week for eight days, doing a bit of tourism for three days in Manhattan, then visiting relatives in NJ/Penn - I have used Air Miles / Avios points I have been saving up to upgrade us to BA Business Class (there and back); it will be a nice surprise for my wife (I am not going to tell her until we get on the plane). :D

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

This isn't going to be for everyone but as some will know I've been through turbulent times in the past 12 months. In amongst my spiritual beliefs I like to supplement them with motivational thoughts.

There used to be a WWF (as it was) wrestler called The Ultimate Warrior. His character was a total nut-job and in reality he's just about the same. Anyway he posts motivational videos about surviving life in general, fitness workouts and his unique perspective on life. One of his most well-known quotes is "You must show no mercy…nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you…for your greatness will silence them all. Always believe".

It's often misunderstood (you kind of need to know his persona to realise he's not really telling you to have 'no mercy' - he only means that towards those who deliberately try to hold you down) but it's a good line. All he wants is for you to fully realise the potential of your greatness (he refuses to believe all humans can be anything other than 'great'). Anyway I won't link to them directly as they often contain F-bombs but just do a YouTube search for 'Warrior's Injection of Wisdom' if ever you're feeling down, intimidated or need a shot of motivation about something. He has a number of videos on there.

As I said, it won't be for everyone and the guy is a stark raving lunatic - which he confirms himself - and it's this intensity that motivates his fans.

Off to work - grr and whatever.
However, it's still light and the sun is still shining. Makes a big diference to me.

This made me smile in work today:

In the warehouse someone dropped a case of red wine and the bottles smashed which caused a large puddle of red to grow across the floor.

Along came the company un-funny guy, pointed at the wine and with a very fake laugh said to the poor girl that dropped it "HA!!! Day of the week is it?? Day of the week??"

***silence***

I think he meant "time of the month"...

Happy Birthday to Mrs denphone Snr. I am sure she knows how much you all think of her and that must make her feel very proud. :) Oh, and I am sure she doesn't mind living in Fareham. :D

I went for my medication review at the GP's this morning - I got one of my pills taken off down to 15 a day :)

Then he told me I need two new ones - so it's up to 17 and 5 injections a day.

On the plus side my blood pressure was normal which was great :)

I know exactly how you feel unfortunately. I didn't realise till I just had a count up that I'm on 26-29 tabs a day, 2 inhalers, and a weekly injection (for the next 6 weeks/ then monthly). I didn't think it was as bad as that.

Hmm, no wonder I never feel hungry. :D

I managed to spend my CF Competition winnings on a Omron M10-IT blood pressure monitor (I got it for £34).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Omron-Pressu...0068707&sr=8-1

It will save me a lot of hassle in having to go to the Drs so often just for a reading.

Well what if you had a tipple or two in the end dear chap as it was certainly well worth it in the end with a trip to the lovely city of Paris and you can even stop off to purchase some Haute couture for your wife on the way.:D

Normal until Natalie comes by eh??.... * ;)

Sorry to hear about the meds though. Our youngest is on 3 different ones for his epilepsy and they're still not controlling his fits. Looks like he's going to need another change. :(

* offered in the 'happy' spirit of the thread :)

---------- Post added at 11:02 ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 ----------

Anyway our happy thought of the day came yesterday when Osem snr. managed to get his first match report published on an internet site. Entirely by his own efforts, the lad's made good contacts with our local 'Conference League' team for whom he writes regularly in the match programme. More recently he's got the attention of the website owners and represented the site at the match earlier in the week. Evidently, he sat in the press box and wrote his notes then came home and worked on it until midnight before emailing his final report. I must say what I read was much better than I'd thought it'd be. There were one or two things I'd have changed of course and a couple of minor mistakes but, all in all, it was very good. He even tells me some live commentary work may be coming his way soon! So it looks like we now have a budding karate club sensei and sports journalist on our hands. Who'd have thought?... :)
