As I understand it Farage is one of their star presenters and brings people in. They'll keep him and probably tolerate more from him.

I don't think either of these two are big draws or that talented. GB News probably doesn't see much benefit to sticking out their necks for their right to rate women but how likely Fox is to sleep with them.

Daily Mail has gotten rid of him as well. Seems like they wanted rid of him and this was a chance to do so.

I heard that GBNews is being re-branded to ToryTV to reflect content :D

Tory deputy chair Lee Anderson to interview Suella Braverman on GB News days after Ofcom impartiality sanction

Quote:

GB News was plunged into a fresh impartiality row on Thursday after Conservative deputy party chairman Lee Anderson revealed that he would be interviewing Home Secretary Suella Braverman on the channel.

It comes days after the broadcast watchdog Ofcom found that GB News had breached impartiality rules by airing an interview with Chancellor Jeremy Hunt by two Tory MPs.

Mr Anderson, who earns £100,000 as a presenter on GB News in addition to his MPs salary, described the interview with Ms Braverman as an “Exclusive Scoop”.

Re: GB News / Talk TV

We really are testing democracy if GB News cannot interview Braverman with Anderson as inquisitor. I suppose they could use another interviewer but the interesting thing for the public is how Anderson, who is not a Tory puppet, handles her and the swerves we can expect.

I know that Ian is a rabid anti-Tory leftie who revels in awkwardness for GB News. But that channel is the perfect antidote to the left leaning major channels.

Democracy is dying, I fear.

He is the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party!

I don't really care if they have the interview or not but pretending that a Tory MP and the Deputy Chairman of the Party interviewing the Tory Home Secretary is hard-hitting journalism is nonsense.

I rather suspect that the Tory hierarchy, in playing to the red wall by promoting Anderson is the greater puppet.

When a TV channel hires senior members of the ruling political party to interview its own ministers in place of independent professional journalists, democracy is dying. The UK needs an independent media to hold its politicians to account, not the governing party interviewing itself.

The only thing dying here is any sense of irony.
