My Freeview EPG is saying ''Shop on TV'' from Midnight on Tuesday on Shop on TV.

Is Shop on TV set to become an 24 hour channel and launch in Wales from Wednesday?
Where will Together TV move to?

Also NVTV becomes That's TV (Belfast) and Sheffield Live becomes That's TV (Sheffield).
And a few renumbered channels on Freely with no meaningful pattern. e.g. 79 moves to 77 (S4C except Wales), 149 moves to 140 (That's TV 3 (MCR)), 150 moves to 141 (Rewind TV). 151 stays on 151 (U&Eden).
The large gaps in the Freely EPG make it look as disorganised as it is...

Thanks for info mate.

A UKTTVC investigation showed that the S4C channel number change happened much earlier in April between the official dates used by Everyone TV for updates. Although they don't have logs to confirm the actual date of the change. S4C, however, have confirmed that the channel number was changed on April 1st.

'Popeye' says on they X page that:

*Must Have Ideas may launch in May's Changes day (Set to be May 21st) on Freeview Channel 95.
*High Street TV may launch on Freeview Channel 96.
*Both may even time share.
*It takes about 28 days for the licence before it can launch as a linear channel.

The licence was issued on the 2nd April 2025 for Must have Ideas
The licence was issued on the 15th April 2025 for High Street TV.

Information you read on this post is NOT my own views.

The licence timing is complete nonsense. The rest seems to be a wild "stab in the dark" guess.

Funny thing about that is Freely / Everyone TV couldn't give a date for the change, suggesting "early April". :erm:
If only they knew what was happening on their platform.

Re: Freeview changes

I don’t think it has always been this way, but That’s TV 3 on PSB2 (aka D3&4) Multiplex is in MPEG4!

Just been made aware of this just now when I looked at the DTT multiplex timeshare information page I look at occasionally. This is their most recent change. https://xhxf.uk/timeshares/

This means unless you have a HD Freeview tuner (or one of those DVB-T models that got sold with MPEG4 as it sold outside the UK market) then you can’t see a channel broadcast on a DVB-T Multiplex. DVB-T, though capable of carrying MPEG4, has only carried MPEG2 in the UK up until now, and that was what was part of the original Digital Terrestrial specs in the UK. The only Multiplex carrying MPEG4 in the UK up until this point has been PSB3 (aka BBC-B) which carries the HD channels (and in recent years a few SD channels).

My initial reaction was it can’t be correct, it’s reducing who can see it, but DigitalBitRate also says it. https://www.digitalbitrate.com/dtv.p...live=9&lang=en

Is this an experiment to see whether anyone notices/complains? The aim, to move an entire Multiplex to MPEG4, fitting in more channels without the cost/effort of converting the multiplexes to DVT-T2 first, so ultimately they can close a DTT Multiplex sooner.

---------- Post added at 13:43 ---------- Previous post was at 12:34 ----------

Seems That’s TV 3 changed to MPEG4 on 10th June. There’s a thread on Digital Spy’s forums.

I have tried viewing it an MPEG2 box and can confirm it doesn’t work, but the other channels on the Mux , as expected, do. I have a TV that is DVB-T only but I think is MPEG4 capable, so I will check that later.

I have now checked it and That’s TV 3 does indeed work, and on the channel info it shows ACC where it shows MPEG for all the other channels.

So the change is confirmed.

This move will mean 4Seven will appear in more areas on Freeview.

Surprised they aren’t closing the channel on all platforms given their financial issues.
