It's not going to a smoke screen with hours left to go....£10 million is going to get rejected though.

I don't believe it, at most Arsenal are probably looking at someone else there.

Why can't you believe it? Creative Midfielder that Arsenal can get cheaper than the proper targets.

1715 DONE DEAL Looks like West Ham and Tottenham have been speaking to each other a lot today. It has just been confirmed that, as revealed by BBC sports news correspondent Dan Roan a couple of minutes ago, out-of-favour Spurs midfielder David Bentley has joined the Hammers on a season-long loan.
Quote:

1717: More from BBC Sport's Chief football writer Phil McNulty on Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta. McNulty says: "Everton's Mikel Arteta is emerging as the latest big-name target for Arsenal as they seek a midfield man to complete their signings. Word on Merseyside is no deal as yet - but Everton are vulnerable to a big offer and £10m may yet be enough. Will be a tense few hours for David Moyes if Arsenal press strongly."

Arteta has been independently mentioned by many reporters. A bid was probably made but will it be enough. Arteta is better than nobody, really wanted a bigger player like Hazard through.

1719: BBC 5 Live's Mike Sewell: "Following on from what Phil McNulty is saying, Arsenal are doing their utmost to sign a midfielder to fill the gaps left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. I understand that should it happen then it's likely to be an England-based player. Arteta clearly falls into that category. Watch this six-hour space!"
Another bit on ARTETA ?
