Media Boy EXCLUSIVE: More news on the Sky's Virgin Media Television takeover.

I have been told by my Virgin Insider that Virgin Media wants Sky Red Button and Sky HD Channels as part of any deal to sell The Virgin Media Television Channels to BSkyB.

This is great news hopefully it happens so on skysports i can do match choice instead of having to watch the match they choose

I think the people doing the rebranding must be 13. Nat Geo, syfy, it makes me very embarrassed as i'm able to speak engrish.

I like this part :

NBC Universal is repositioning its pay-TV channels around five core brands: Syfy Universal, Studio Universal, Diva Universal, 13th Street Universal and Universal Channel.

So as MB says in post one they all may get rebranded at the same time ?

Yeh, I'd imagine all sorts of deals to get Sky's services would be part of this.

Seems like a choice I would splash the cash for. Although in the past VM have not wanted to take this stance, remeber them refusing Sky to sell its basic channels directly to VM customers.

And if you don't have Sports or Movies, but still want Sky1 HD ?
I'm sure something will be sorted out with the Sky HD channels sooner or later.

Surely a couple of years down the line HD will be the standard and nobody will be charging a premium for them...... So whats all the fuss

That couple of years probably many years away. Heck some channels are not even widescreen yet.

Not really anything about 3D there though, they were just saying how they've already shown some 3D stuff, not hinting at anything new in the future.

And to be honest, VM's 3D offering so far has been average at best, unlike Sky who are using the latest tech.
