Liverpool are now 5 points behind 2nd place. They need to win both games. If Fiorentina win against Lyon then they are out.

If Lyon play like they did today they and Fiorentina will be going through no matter what Liverpool do.

If Fiorentina draw against Lyon. Then Liverpool need to win by 3 clear goals or 4 if Fiorentina score 1. In other words they need to make sure that their the overall result between the two games they played with Fiorentina put them ahead including taking the away goal rule into account.

Fiorentina will beat Lyon if Lyon are as poor as they were today. They only looked threatening in the last 15 minutes of the match.

It is at Fiorentina as well. Trouble a-brewing for Liverpool. Given just how much debt they are in could they afford to drop out of Champion's League already! If they don't make the top 4 this season then the ramifications might be so dire as too keep them out of it for a good number of seasons.

Apparently I heard that dropping out of the ECL would cost them around £135m. Sounds a lot, but that's what I heard.

And if they do even worse and don't qualify for Europa, then that's another ~£30m

What a pity, could have been up there with the likes of Shearer, mind you never trust the Mail when it comes to The Hammers

If that was a top 4 team they would be in a crisis with the managers job under pressure. City aren't a top 4 team.
