Ichnusa Anima Sardi - a Sardinian Lager.

One of our neighbours is a cheese maker, and he comes from Sardinia - I help him out occasionally when he has IT "issues", so he kindly gave me (as a thank you gift, as I don’t charge him for help) a bunch of his cheeses, some crackers and chutneys, and a couple of bottles of this lager.

Very smooth.

Small splash of water helps release flavours in most whisk(e)ys. Some need a little more. Aldi have some nice whiskeys for good money.

My dad has Whisky Rocks, you stick them in the freezer, and they chill your drink without diluting it, after you rince then dry, then put back in the freezer.

I personally have 22 different Vodka brands to choose from. HIC

My sister puts grapes in the freezer then puts them in a glass of wine, this keeps it cold and you can eat the grapes after.

Sorry must disagree , any water in a good burbon is just being cheap :D. Like Aldi , but there spirits are only good with a mixer and a large one at that :D

Different strokes for different folks - if they enjoy it, that’s what matters.

(I’m a single malt / cognac drinker, and I keep a bottle of Sainsbury’s own-brand speyside single malt for anyone who wants a mixer, but I want people to enjoy what they have, not belittle them for it).

Anyway, back on topic - Maxime Trijol, Elegance, Grande Champagne Cognac from Wright’s Wine & Whisky, Skipton; cracking shop, with, and I quote
Quote:

“seven rooms of drinks heaven” – over 3,000 wines from around the globe, with rooms dedicated to both Bordeaux and Burgundy – two whisky rooms containing over 1,200 products – a growing collection of 300+ gins, 100 rums, 200+ Brandies (Cognac, Armagnac and Calvados) 150+ Fortified Wines (Sherry, Madeira, Marsala and Port) and, of course, plenty of fizz.
If you’re in the Skipton area, and you don’t mind doing a bit of damage to your bank account, I’d strongly recommend a visit. Julian, the proprietor, knows his stuff (as do his colleagues).

tweetiepooh 13-12-2021 09:34

Re: The what are you drinking now thread

Aldi's single malts have been rated quite highly, certainly the Speyside version has. Their Highland Black blend isn't bad either. No they aren't quite up to some of the branded single malts but at about half the price they increase your options to offer.

And single malt Irish Whiskeys are pretty good, Bushmills for example.

Can't see why people want to chill whisky but water can release some of the flavours in the drink but you need to get the right amount of water to spirit, some it's just a few drops, some I put in 2 whisky to 1 water. Others are best used to sterilise surgical equipment.
