Its got to be said Podolski was poor. He had a good opportunity on his left leg to make the keeper work but instead hit row z. Its pathetic. Wenger was smiling throughout, may be bewildered, nonetheless hes at fault for a lot of the predictable stuff on field.

Well its nice to get three points today against a side we have struggled against in the last few years and its certainly looking like top four is a increasingly possible given Arsenal are struggling a bit currently whilst Spurs are 9 points behind and Man Utd are 14 points behind but its one game at a time and lets see where it takes us.

As for Southampton they should be proud how well they have done as they have a fine manager and have made some astute buys whilst bringing through some talented young players.

Any action paedew does is justified, because he owns the club.

I don't see him getting sacked, and would think that is harsh. that said, I would expect a very long touchline ban for him, circa 12 games. It was a stupid action, and worse, no justification (not as if the Hull payer did something). Even if justified (which it wasn't) I would still give a long ban.

Colin yes it is looking pretty good for a top 4 place but remember we have some tough fixtures still to play and a couple of bad results here and there and things won't look half as promising.

The title is between Man City and Chelsea.

Can't remember where I read it yesterday, might have been on the BBC Sport site, but someone was surmising he will be given a 6 month ban from all stadia in the UK. If he gets a ban like that, then he would either have to resign or be fired because how can a team cope for 6 months with working with the manager during the week then having to deal with a coach or assistant at matches?

Liverpool are now being judged as top 4 certs and a chance for the title irrespective of their attempts to downplay it.

That is a good point. It all depends on what newcastle want. If they want rid of pardew, this would be a good basis for sacking him.

Yes. i suspect Den is only saying Liverpool don't have much chance, as he is afraid of jinxing it. This is Liverpool's best chance, and once in the top 4 next year, it is for others to displace them.

You can get odds of 10-1 for a Sunderland win today  I realise City are red hot favourites but that's big odds in a one off game, especially when they've beaten City already this season.

From BBC site and so true

"Chelsea have a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League - but boss Jose Mourinho says it is a "fake lead" because Manchester City have games in hand.

BBC pundit and former Arsenal team-mate Martin Keown: "It is work to do for Man City- it is money in the bank for the Chelsea team. It is smoke signals from Jose Mourinho - I start to lose respect when he starts talking like that - he should be saying the pressure is on Man City now.

The correlation is not there, if you are matching winning championships, and telling the truth.

If you take keown's playing career, and Jose, there is a difference, but I wouldn't say that automatically makes him right.

Jose spouts a lot of rubbish, and is becoming very tiresome

Mr Pharmacist 02-03-2014 13:39

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

If he does start saying the pressure is on Man City he'll be accused of playing mind games and being cocky and arrogant again. Though by saying it's a "fake lead" because Manchester City have games in hand is, to me anyway, the same as saying what Keown wants him to say. And it's the same sort of playing down our title chances he's been doing all season. What he says in public doesn't concern me, it's what he tells the team that matters. The pressure IS on, and if we beat Spurs next week then it grows. Don't expect Jose to say that in a straightforward way though. He may not be liked by a lot of people, but he's one of the best at taking attention away from his teams.

---------- Post added at 13:39 ---------- Previous post was at 13:34 ----------

...

Keown was commenting specifically about Jose in regard to his management style, not his playing style so the correlation is entirely valid, even if Jose is a bit tiresome.

Sorry for Dave. But, I think Sunderland have more chance staying up after losing this.

Some players quit playing after winning a trophy. This should encourage them to fight until the end.

It would be massive if Atletico win but Ronaldo will most probably settle it for Real.

Well done City! I think that gives an extra Europa thingy place to 6th in the league now doesn't it?

I see Real winning. Leaving it to the big two to fight to the finish.

I think atletico have gone off the boil a bit.

I think so. Only the winner gets the place. Runner up doesn't get it, league place counts after the winner (if they already have a place)

0-1 Real. More to come I think

City winning might mean Man utd getting a place in Europe. Well done to them.

ye 2 defeats in the last 3 as appose to their 1 loss in 22 before the 2nd defeat. another loss today and they will fall off which is a shame for Spanish football.

 hardly. Ramires who doesn't seem to understand English too well makes accusations of racism ? Claims which were later proven false. Na, Pires was a saint compared to him :D

Well I suppose if he doesn't understand English too well then you can't really have too much of a go at him for what he thought he heard. But as for calling Pires an angel! That deserves a   There are a few a lot lot worse than Ramires and Pires though...But I'm not going there as I'm out for dinner at 6...

Shouldn't those around him who understand English help him understand or would it be better to go public the same night? Anyway the whole thing was a bit strange coming from a club that backed John Terry

Well if he thought he heard something he's a right to say it, no matter what his level of English was. Once Mikel started kicking doors in I don't think they had much choice but to say something. And no matter what your opinion of Terry is, if he's denied it then again they have no choice but to defend him. It could have been worse, they could have all worn t-shirts defending him.

 Did Chelsea discipline any of the players or were the FA charges sufficient? It could have been worse, Chelsea fans could have fronted it out chanting we know who we are etc. plus those racists coming out, oh wait they did ;)

Players? What and how many players are you on about? Supporters get behind their players, you should know that by now. And "plus those racists coming out, oh wait they did" Is that supposed to mean me as well?. It also depends what's worse when it comes to being captain as well. Being accused of racism or crashing your car after propelling it through streets, with a risk of killing someone, whilst being so drunk you hardly remember it? I've no doubt Adams actions were "fronted out" as well.

John Terry. John Obi Mikel. Ramires. You know the players being spoken of.

 Calm down. I meant the actual proven racists by Law that came out. 'We know who we are', I don't know, that unsettled me but hey if thats your front for your captain then fine. It all seemed like an arrogant clueless front to everyone else.

6th May 1990. The day I was born  I'm not too sure what the Arsenal fans were doing, I wish they were chanting my name :D
