Had a lovely family day. I am now sat cradling a hot toddy watching Lord of the Rings whilst surrounded by dozing family sleeping off a surfeit of good food, wine and and all manner of goodies. Truly a happy day in the company of those I hold dearest.

I raise a toast to absent friends.

So glad you have had a lovely day jog with your family and our family too is watching Lord of the Rings as well after we have spent the day feasting ourselves on food and drink and giving each other presents.

I just had a thought - if I have various organs packing up does that mean as they are no longer working I get the extra energy :)

See now that would be cool.

Oh and with it all I am at least loosing weight - down from 23st to 13.5 at the moment.

Although the hospital say I should be 8 - can't see it myself.

What moi? https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2016/10/1.gif one thing the other members of my family have been relieved about is that I won't be tempted to buy the baby lots of shoes for a while. Little do they realise that Jimmy Choo does a children's range, a fair selection of which I already have on order. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/01/24.gif

Thanks for the responses nash and heero.

I was classed as a geriatric mother when I had our son and with him now in his 30's I supposed you could say I am a geriatric Granny now. Doesn't mean I have any intention of growing up though, grey hair and slippers are not quite my scene. I will continue being a red haired, high heel wearing hellion for the foreseeable future. :D

I didn't think you were old enough to be a granny Jo :)

I remember 12 years ago picking my newborn niece up for the first time, I was scared I might break her.

But I did love bottle feeding her and was amazed how loud her burps were.

Mind you I never would change a smelly nappy.

And thanks but I'm straight :erm: :spin:

Not yet as fit as I'd like to be, at 38 I guess I'm doing ok. I've decided that dropping from 15 stone to 12 and a half is enough now as some people have commented that the difference in me now is impressive but losing any more lard wouldn't look or be healthy. So far my running has been all about distances, so rather than win a race I just want to be able to complete it. As my running mate told me, needing to slow down to walk isn't quitting - stopping is quitting. When I go out with the top runners in the club I normally come last in a 6 mile run but the fact is I completed it so that's not too bad.

But now I need to start on speed and endurance so whereas a sub-40 time on a 5 mile x-country isn't too bad, I have to beat it next time :)

That's how I treat it. It's me against the clock and the course. It doesn't matter what pace the guys 30 years younger than me are going at.

Never walk Ross no matter how hard it hurts, keep running even if you've slowed to walking pace as in my vast but now distant experience it was so much harder to get going again after walking.

I only tend to walk when I get to steep hills towards the end of 3 miles+ runs - I don't do hills and can usually manage them but my usual loops are set up in such a way that if they do have hills I hit them at the start. If I do them at the end then I need a breather for about 15 seconds. But I do get running again :)

We're all nice here :)

Have sold my car, good price - totally lost confidence in driving it. Clutch set set way too high and too powerful - my mistake.
No more worries about anything car-related. Ahhhhh.

Glad you got a good price, don't envy you the prospect of public transport though, it's full of the public for a start.

My happy thought - I got the dishwasher we were given working. But I'm not convinced there is any point.

Still that's why I married Mrs Right - Mrs ALWAYS Right :)
