If there is only one IP for the NTL mail servers then why are some people getting different results to others ?????

The name pop.ntlworld.com only resolves to one address so maybe some kind of load balancing to multiple servers is at work ? - Who knows !

Hmmm. Nearly identical to mine yet I am getting mail from my pop boxes. I dont use the NTL smtp though......

Very strange :eek: Can you try a telnet to the pop and smtp servers. If you dont get a response then something very strange is happening.

no response there, seems strange both in Luton yet my mail isn't working.....again.....oh well Pipex is being connected today so at least I'm going to have one decent service

I'm an insomniac and as such often check my email at ungodly hours such as 3 am.

I've noticed that I often, and maybe even usually of late, can't connect overnight. Haven't kept a log up to now because it's only just dawned on me that it's a pattern.

Or maybe it's just my imagination??

Connections have been timing out quite regularly this morning.
Things seemed to have improved over the last few weeks, but the last couple of days it's been pants.
