Well it was certainly flagged up. No trouble noticing this one! (Those of us working at home lost our connections too)

The network can be tolerant of some faults, but only really "expected" ones like power failures and cut fibres. Weird software behaviour is much harder to anticipate. It can sometimes be handled with watchdogs etc, but they don't tend to be seamless. (That may well be what happened in this case, given that it recovered within 10 minutes after each failure)

I don't know the details, but for now they have changed routing to bypass the faulty part of the network.

This is going to sound nuts but here goes. 3 days ago I started to hear a deep droning sound which was vibrating against my ear drums. After two days of hardly any sleep and feeling like I’d been through a washing machine cycle as a last resort in the middle of the night when the humming was worst I put my ear to the V6 and wondered if this was what was causing it. Turned it off and the noise stopped. Now my V6 is in the corner of the house and yet this sound was vibrating my ear drums no matter what room I was in. What the hell was all that about? The next day the network goes down.

Just gone off again for me.

Back again, well, sort of.

Switched back on after Network problem circumvented and it’s purring like a kitten. Not a hard drive about to fail

It's happening again - I'm losing interest access every 15 minutes or so, and the V6 box is losing connection at the same time - happened 3 times in the last 40 minutes.

Power supply vibrations? It used be common with transformers in the olde days (eddy currents in the iron formers), but most devices don't have transformers these days.

Pretty sure it isn't the same thing. That's something local to you.

Probably, but the user experience is the same... ;)
