I (mostly) disagree with "hating" things, because hate is such a negative emotion which blinds rational thought and discussion- I understand strongly disliking things, but you can have a reasoned discussion about those things; if someone hates something, it becomes an argument about who’s right, rather than a debate about what’s right - the hate becomes all-consuming, and reason leaves the discussion.

Anyone who served front-line in Afghanistan, especially in a FOB in Helmand Province.

Lieutenant General Richards said that this was the heaviest persistent combat the British Armed Forces had experienced since the Korean War or the Second World War.

Also flying front seat in an Apache over Terry Taliban and his SAMs and RPGs sounds fairly heroic to me...

Don't like or dislike them, I don't know them, but as mentioned the Royals are an irrelevance given the much bigger things going on in the World, which makes the constant media coverage pathetic.

Demonisation of individual seems to be a particular trait of this country, build someone up, then destroy them in n the tabloids. All to sell papers and damn the consequences on individuals. No wonder they want to leave.
