Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
ironic really that i was surviving quite happily without sky sports before vm offered the season ticket
currently got sky sports half price for another few weeks so thats due to go up and thats without hd done a few sums and i reckon if i keep phone and bb with vm and get sky tv i'll be paying roughly the same but will gain sports and movies in hd for 12 months so i think i'll put that in motion today after a bit more soul searching |
Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
For me i'm paying £57.99 per month and that is for the full package with Sky and the 50Mb broadband and line rental from VM.
I must also add that I've had half price Sky subscription now for 2 full years. My current offer expires in October so no doubt i'll be haggling with them again and manage to get the same deal. Sky don't like customers leaving and, dare I say, 'bend over backwards' to keep you. Last year I managed to blag another 12 months half price WITHOUT having to sign up for another 12 months contract :) |
Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
I have BT sports and sky spots on the XL package BT sport Europe what Channel will this be on more football for me

Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
I am seriously struggling to justify sky sports at nearly £40 a month with HD (wouldn't want SD on its own) with another £3 rise to XL now on the way. I haven't subscribed to SS for this season as of yet and it's 50/50 if I will now. It's always been a no brainier 'yes' for me before. Wonder how many other regular SS subscribers are balking.

Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
I've just remembered I have a relative's sky go login (including sports) I can use on my pS4 linked to the TV, a much cheaper option and something else to throw into the mix
1st world problems maybe but all good fun working out what to do ---------- Post added at 09:32 ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 ---------- Quote:

Re: £3 TV increase but BT Sport Europe is "free"
I did try Now TV but the picture quality in live sport is terrible. It's ok on the movies but the sport is horrible. It gave me a headache watching it. Would save £2 a month on the Big Kahuna Sports but am holding out with current package for contract end in a few months.

My point was that given Now TV is available on Roku (as well as other providers), this shows that Sky Atlantic is not being withheld from other platforms. Of course, VM may have their own reasons for not making Now TV available to its TiVo customers, but that is a separate issue. I would like to see Mr Malone make good on his promise of maximising the amount of content available to cable customers without necessarily owning the content. If. Now TV is the only mechanism by which we can access Sky Atlantic, ITV Encore and other exclusive content, I think VM should bite the bullet and add it into our streaming services in the same kind of arrangement it has with Netflix. VM may take the view that it is not a good deal for their customers, but I and others have taken precisely that decision in subscribing to Now TV outside the Virgin Media service. They should let their own customers decide. ---------- Post added at 14:15 ---------- Previous post was at 14:08 ---------- Quote:
Now TV is available on a number of different devices. This indicates to me that it is Virgin Media who are refusing to take this or any other available option to secure the channel. ---------- Post added at 14:20 ---------- Previous post was at 14:15 ---------- Quote:
However, my main point is correct, because Sky don't own all those gaming consoles and TV makers that give you access to Now TV. |
