I class that as the next software/firmware update.

2 people on the first page think the same thing.

I can't speak for denphone but I'm sure it doesn't bother him or anyone else that people are taking it to mean firmware update and/or intermediary non-firmware update (i.e. a new app, enabling a feature that exists but can't be used yet). The point is people are throwing ideas out there in the hope Virgin Media will listen, which is a good thing.

The only one it seems to be bothering is you, as if everyone who isn't interpreting the thread in the same way as you is automatically wrong. That makes you wrong, not everyone else.

Have one of these. :dunce:

+1 from me. This has been a bug bear I always had with the V+ box

The second one cancels out the first one, because it's only the SD menus which don't have the PiP window.

Impossible, there's no eSATA port for it on the back like the US TiVo boxes. The only way to extend capacity would be crack open the VM TiVo using the right screwdrivers and replace the internal harddrive with something larger.

Just use a proper computer. The TiVo is not a desktop system replacement, nor should it be when there are more important tweaks needed (i.e. massive overhaul of the iPlayer app). Even I mentioned the absurdity of including a mobile browser because it would require implementing USB mouse support and a bunch of other things.

The rest of your suggestions were alright, although of course they've already come up before. :p: :)

Also when Sky Sports Red button app comes out (by the end of march)

I hope we are able to record Match choice and Champions League (2012 - 2013 season) games somehow.

I did send a email about this.

This was the reply

What's hard to realise that VM red button match choice doesn't include being able to record each game , it makes me wonder do you actually watch Match Choice if you did you'd see that it always emphasises Sky+ users can select there game to record.

Yes i know and that means nothing.

Going by what Peter chapman said it sounds like they are allowed to do it.

but Virgin Media would need to make it work somehow.

1. Fix the video output.

2. Implement the 'Copy to DVD' functionality as in V+ (assuming this is possible!)

Have to admit, I'd also love point 2 to happen at some stage.

Just realised it would be possible if you used a harddrive that works via USB, although I very much doubt even the US TiVo's have USB HDD support so the VM TiVo won't get it.

from what i have read US Tivos DO have usb hdd support enabled

Re: What would you like in the next Tivo update?

Huh, guess I was thrown off by the prompt you get when plugging something storage-based into the VM TiVo and the lengths TiVo US go to to sell their Western Digital official eSATA add-on HDDs.

Personally I wouldn't want to add an eSATA drive to TiVo because then you're running two HDDs which is louder/less energy efficient and as soon as the second one is twinned up you can't remove it without losing all the content that was recorded from the time it was added. I like the idea of being able to hook up an independent FAT32/NTFS/EXT3/HFS+ drive that can be moved between systems easily so media can be played on anything that will support it!
