A reboot usually cures occasional sync issues though. Some problems are caused by customers amps settings, i.e. delay on too long in settings. See post #54 by Spiderplant. :) |
Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi - on Balance I reckon it is more pronounced on 5.1 broadcasts. Not had any real problems on other hd channels. BBChd seems to be the main culprit. If it is only on one hd channel, I am not sure how the v+ can be to blame?

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi All - I think calling in a fault is going to have to wait until after the summer holidays. Not really enough time to wait in for an engineer, before off on hols.
However just to update you BBCHD still not in sync although the amount varies. Other HD channels seem fine. Could the V+ discriminate one HD channel from another? is there something special about the BBC feed? mdancer |
Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
The engineer called and he determined that as I was using HDMI for visual but via a SCART based setup for audio to my 5.1 surround system. The speeds of the two systems are not compatable. . If I buy an Optical cable vor my audio all will be fine, so an order from the internet has been placed and will advise results in due course.
....but I am sure his lips moved quicker than I heard his voice?? |
Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Captain Fishy - Interesting. My surround is linked by HDMI with an optical cable from the V+ box to the surround system (a Sony TV stand with built in suuround, the model number escapes me).
I hope it works for you. I still wonder why BBCHD is so bad though. mdancer |
Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi I have HDMI for visual and optical to a Samsung 5.1. BBC HD is still out of sync, so I wouldnt get your hopes up to much Capt-Fishy! Sorry :-(

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
I've no external amp and I've noticed that studio-based live BBC HD (eg The One Show) is out of sync, but other stuff (eg The Damned United) is fine. Are the folk experiencing problems commenting on all BBC HD output, or just the live studio stuff?

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Reporting back on my cnage to opitical cable connection to my 5.1 system.
Is NO BETTER I still have lip synch problems, just watching F1 on BBC1 and its well out, however when I revert to my TV speakers using the HDMI inputs - perfecto! But thats not why I have 5.1 - so I need to find a solution to this somehow? |

Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi,
new to this site. Just got new tv and hooked it up to V+HD via HDMI. Still using the scart to conect audio to my amp. The sounds through TV is fine but the sound through amp is out of synch, the sound through the amp appears to be ahead of the image and sound through tv. When I revert back to scart lead for both audio and image I still get the amp slightly ahead of the TV. My old TV didn't have this problem. Any thoughts on the problem? The new TV is LED old one was big old standard tube TV, amp in quite old, and has no synch settings. thanks in advance |
Re: Sound out of synch on BBC HD
Hi - It seems to me that nialli is experiencing exactly what I was getting, in that studio based programs on BBCHD are/have/can be out of sync. I watched Top Gear and Sherlock last night recorded from BBCHD, and the sound was okay. Hopefully, the issue has resolved itself in the CM17 area. So no calls yet to faults then. I will continue to monitor.
Sorry to see other people getting the same problem, is this now proof that there is a problem with the BBC feed? mdancer |
