when i went to cast my vote i asked the woman who gave me my slips if it had been busy and she said it has been busier than she can remember ,people were waiting outside at 0700 and she has done polling booth duties for years so it would appear on that very small sample that turnout is up

IMHO a Lib Dem (or any other party) vote is a wasted vote.

Better than complaining about parties being the same* and then thinking your restricted to them.

Not strickly true though.

I guess we do not know what would happen in this country in the event of a hung Parliament but several other countries have collection governments, Germany being one, which have strong governments and economies.

The culture shock could hamper progress at first but if the system was used to it, if we had PR, then it can be a strong government. The notion that this leads to weak governments is simply false and only promoted by those who wish to scare people of voting for any party which are not one of the big two.

Tom Harris may be Labour, but at least he's got a sense of humour.
