that actually sounds logical but I think the thing about religions/beliefs is some people like to inpart/share it with others. some even knock on my front door trying to talk to be about it.

What do you do about religions whose followers are expected not to keep it to themselves?

Warn them that they shouldn't do it again? ;)

Sorry Russ, perhaps you can show me where the patient who reported her to the trust actually invited her to pray for them?

(sigh)

Pushing it on her would have been her asking if the patient would like to pray with her. As an example if I said "For God's sake Xaccers your anti-religious tripe annoys the brown stuff out of me" am I pushing God on you then?

I am a Hindu and I am a nurse. Can I bring a Holy Cow to the hospital to bless the patients? I really, really care for them.

No animals allowed as its a health risk you should know that. Last time I looked praying for someone did not carry risk of cross infection. Take it you leave your religion at the door then and wear no religious garb of any kind?

Quite right, some people do. Those who choose to troll the streets on Sunday, knocking on doors & trying to "sell" their religion, must either be highly paid, or desperately wanting to pass on their beliefs to others.

When I`m disturbed from my Sunday lunch, & pestered by these believers, peddling their beliefs, I simply ask them not to bother me, & keep their religion to themselves.

Chris:

Those who choose to ignore my wishes & continue with their conversion speech, get a good assortment of Salford dialect, mixed with barrack room language. Followed by the threat of a boot in the rectum.

I don`t pester others with my beliefs. I dont expect others to pester me.
Not very Christian, but I`m a Atheist.

The nurse wasn't pestering anyone though.

I was agreeing with etccars post m8. The nurse did bring religion into her conversation. Some may regard that as pestering. It depends on your point of view.

I respect peoples views & beliefs Russ, as long as they dont bother me with them. Its simple realy.

In your opinion.

The complainant/patient thought otherwise, otherwise why did she complain to the trust?

When will you lot get it in to your heads that nobody complained!!!!

Sorry for sounding bullish but it really looks like some people are trying to create a situation that does not exist.

Erm (and I didn't put exclamation marks or Bold accentuation ;))

Christian Today
Mrs Petrie, 45, was suspended without pay on 17 December following a complaint from the patient to the North Somerset Primary Care Trust

BBC
The patient complained to the health trust about Mrs Petrie who follows the Baptist faith

Re: Nurse suspended for offering to pray for patient's recovery

The beeb reported this afternoon that she did not complain, she notified the trust of her concerns but it was treated as a complaint by the trust - Sky News echoed this.

She made no complaint however she felt that the nurse might be at risk of offending someone else - Sky followed it up by interviewing one of her colleagues who made the noteable point that if that was likely then you have to ask why nobody had reported any offence before.
